This Wilton chocolate pro fountain is great for entertaining a medium/large group of people. Follow the directions and I recommend using the Wilton chocolate or a chocolate that you don't have to add oil to. It was very easy to put together. Before usage melt the chocolate completely before pouring it into the base. Preheat the fountain and make sure it is on a level surface. It flowed smooth and was so tasty for our dipping treats of choice. If it is not flowing smoothly give the chocolate in the base a litte stir or add more chocolate if it's running low. I recommend buying sticks for your treats. For a easier cleanup clean the plastic pieces and bowl while the chocolate is still warm. You cannot emerge the base in water. Overall I recommend for parties. For small groups you will have a lot of wasted chocolate. The fountain was very fun to use.

Fun!

This chocolate fountain is so much fun. It is very easy to assemble straight out of the box and no extra tools are needed. It comes with the main fountain then 4 plastic pieces to assemble, which only takes minutes to screw together. I highly recommend reading the directions thoroughly because they offer some good safety tips and important things to do prior to using fountain. Before using the fountain, I washed the plastic pieces and wiped clean the fountain base, as recommend in the instructions. I used the Wilton Chocolate Pro Melting wafers which did not require adding the extra oil and were delicious. I melted the chocolate in the microwave as directed on one of the options for melting the chocolate. It is very important to use both 2 lbs bags of chocolate for the fountain for the full effect of the chocolate flow. When in use it does make a low humming sound but nothing unbearable, especially if a party is going on. The cleaning process was a learning process. Its important to get as much chocolate off all the fountain pieces. I used a heat resistant specula to scrape off as much chocolate as I could and then submerge the plastic pieces in hot soapy water to wash. The fountain cannot be submerged in water, so I poured out as much chocolate into a tin can and then wiped as much out of the base. I then used a wet microfiber washcloth to wipe out the rest of the chocolate and cleaned out what was remaining, and It cleaned up beautifully. This is such an easy product to use and once you got down the cleaning process, its easy to clean up and store away. I highly recommend this chocolate fountain; you'll have a blast.

Great addition to your home appliances

I'm not even sure where to start, this fountain is just amazing. It was a treat for my coworkers that enjoy a good snack every now and then. Who doesn't love chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows? The fountain works great, easy to put together, flows perfectly, and came with two 2lb bags of chocolate. I highly recommend this item.

Out of this world

The first thing I noticed was that the parts are easy to
assemble and nothing is sharp. The chocolate flowed easily
down the fountain. You do have to use a fondue chocolate. Easy clean up.

Wilton Chocolate Fountain

This chocolate fountain is amazing! It is professional quality at a reasonable price. My family Loves it. It was easy to put together, easy to operate and easy to take apart. Just be careful to dispose of extra chocolate immediately as it will cool and harden and be hard to clean. I took apart and cleaned immediately and had no problems. 2 thumbs up!

Great Chocolate Fountain

I really enjoyed using this chocolate fountain. the directions were extremely easy to follow for assembly and with only a few pieces to twist together the fountain was assembled in just a few minutes. The fountain is elegant and professional looking. It has an on, heat and flow knob. The fountain does require 4 lbs. of chocolate to flow correctly and i was able to make 4 lbs. of chocolate covered strawberries and a few chocolate covered marshmallows with plenty of chocolate left over. The cleaning was where i knocked a star off. The tower pieces came apart easily for cleaning but the metal bowl all the chocolate sits in can not be submerged in water. I had to dump the remaining chocolate out and continue to wipe the bowl with a sponge until all the chocolate was removed. I didn't feel like this part of cleaning the fountain was easy and wish that the metal part was removable for cleaning as well. i would recommend the chocolate fountain to my friends and family and cant wait to use it at my next get together.

great chiocolate fountain

After reading the directions and how it stresses the importance of ensuring the fountain is completely level or it won't function properly, I followed the easy to understand instructions and put the unit together in about 20 seconds. The instructions state to make sure the unit is level by using the bubble level on the back of the unit and adjusting the 3 feet to correct leveling. Unfortunately, there is NO bubble level included with this unit. 
As long as you read the directions and check out the unit before you use it the first time, most people can scrounge up a level to get the job done. But I have to knock off 1 star for not having a level installed on the unit when it's supposed to be there. 
Other than that, the base is a solidly built metal with a plastic casing. The fountain pieces are plastic. 
The chocolate must be melted in the microwave or double boiler first then poured into the metal base. It takes 4 lb. of chocolate--which seems like a heck of a lot of chocolate. Food that is crumbly and breaks off while dipping may clog the unit so care must be taken. After use, any leftover chocolate must be poured out of the unit while still soft otherwise hardened chocolate may damage the unit when attempting to remove it. Chocolate must be disposed in the trash and not down the drain as it may clog the pipes. The plastic components are top rack dishwasher safe. The metal base is not immersible.
This fountain will be a lot of fun for all supervised kids and adults as well.

Chocolate fountain

The Wilton Chocolate Pro Chocolate Fountain is very sturdy and extremely easy to set up. The directions are pretty simple to follow, although there is no graphic showing what the controls are on the unit and one page refers to a "chart below" that is actually on the next page. 

The chocolate remained smooth and flowed the entire time. It also tasted really good. 

Clean up was a bit of a hassle. You have to let the unit cool a little before handling anything, but you have to make sure that you don't let the chocolate harden. The plastic pieces were a breeze to wash, but wiping out the metal bowl was time-consuming and I still feel like I didn't get all the chocolate off. 

Another downside was that it requires 4 pounds of chocolate for best operation. Chocolate can get pricey, so I feel like this is something that will only be used for large gatherings. The directions don't say that you can save the chocolate to use again later, so it seems like quite a bit of chocolate will be wasted with each use. 

I would only buy this if I knew I was going to be hosting quite a few gatherings/parties.

Not something you'll use often

It was easy to put together, the parts are plastic. Besides the metal bowl where it heats and goes in the swirly part to dispense out. You have to have 4lbs of chocolate. You have to heat the chocolate before pouring it in the bottom part which thats a pain, I now have more dishes and it was a pain to clean up. Then when it clicked it over to the flow button, it doesn't flow properly like its half on one side kind of fully flowing. I liked to knocked the dag on thing over, I did get chocolate every where...dont ask....I don't like it its a mess and I put a strawberry in it anyway, and I didn't like how it tasted. Its messy. Its all over my shirt, the counter. The sink looks like poop watet..I just can't deal with it..maybe you can! Oh no red light to tell thats its on. I like lights notifying me. It has a heat and flow and you just move the knob over to which one you need.....
