This was our first time doing a pontoon float in Florida and our entire family had a blast. We explored Shell Island with friends and had a great day! Alayna and Keeleigh did an amazing job preparing us for a joureny on the waters. Thanks for a great experience!

Our family of 12 rented a boat from here and enjoyed it very much so! Checking in was easy, and the staff was super friendly and helpful! You have to stay in the bag and cannot go out to the gulf. I would recommend people who have never driven a boat to not rent this without someone with experience though because there were huge boats speeding past us and huge wakes that were scary even for our experienced captain! The anchoring process isn't easy so make sure to read up on that!

The boats were extremely nice and almost brand new looking! There was a large cooler and lots of storage under the seats for food!

It was a great day on the water!!

Boating in Treasure Island/St. Pete is amazing. I've rented boats throughout 20+ different locations and we always have a great time. I can definitively say this is the WORST BOAT RENTAL company in the state of Florida. I highly recommend staying away from this company unless you are ok with being micromanaged as they monitor you on the GPS and call you multiple times to tell you how to drive the boat.

The only positive is the jokes our group was able to tell throughout the day about how ridiculous this boat rental company is.

Again, most ridiculous boat company ever. Highly recommend going ANYWHERE else.

If I could give a zero star review I would! We rented a 19 ft deck boat. It had rusted handrails that pulled from the side of the boat, broken speakers, a pulled out speaker with exposed wires & the worst was a broken ladder that not only was useless for getting in & out but ripped the new bathing suit of one guest & cut her bum cheek. She's on her way to get a tetanus shot now! All the check in guy would do was "comp" us gas & told us we should have called them from the middle of know where when we didn't have a signal. His response was everyone has a signal within 35 miles. Uh I'm sorry you don't know my cell service. And most importantly you shouldn't be renting unsafe boats!

      Disputing the charge!

Awful awful awful - DO NOT RENT HERE YOU WILL GET SCAMMED. they'll charge you an extra 300$ because "out of bounds" when they didn't even explain this to you!!! When we got back, the OWNER started SCREAMING at the top of his lungs and called us stupid, and accused us of doing stuff we didn't do??? Threaten to call the cops on us for trespassing? Which didn't make any since since we paid for the boat and they keep your card on file.... craziest place I've ever experienced . Rate ZERO stars if I could

If anyone gives this company more than 1 star i would like to know what this guy paid you.

This owner is the most unprofessional guy I have ever delt with.

We were having a memorial on Shell Isle for my father in law since he passed away from stage 4 lung cancer. Needless to say my mother in law was barely able to hold it together and let him know our intentions of ferrying people from ft desoto to shell isle. It wasnt till after the boat was loaded with supplies (tents, coolers, ect.) And the family that was going to set up that he states he forgot to mention that we aren't allowed to take any of his boats out into the gulf.

There was no way to inform the guest (50+l that the transportation was useless to those who needed a ride.

I offered more compensation and he said I'll let you go to shell Isle but you can't go to ft desoto.

At this point I feel we come to an understanding as he keeps saying I'll talk to you but not the women (first weird moment). As we unload and anchor at the spot he calls my mother in law and says that we are out in the gulf and to get our butts back into the intercoastal. I called him and reminded him that he said we could go to the isle but not the other place to pick up people. That when he threatened to keep the 500 deposit

I ended up having to sit in the intercoastal in 90 degree weather without the ability to swim and cool off since the one anchor was all tangled and prevented me from swimming without the ability to weigh anchor. What's worse is I have to watch the memorial recording that my wife did because she knew how much it meant for me to be there.

Not to mention the sexist comments and inappropriate verbiage in front of an 10 yr old girl.

Wait... he also threatened to trespass me when I asked for copy of a document we all had to sign.

Dont go here... please. The man is a liar and a swindler...If you have any dignity at all let this one small business die. It will be better for all the other small boat places since he sets a bad rep for them all.

Btw who rents a boat with access to the gulf only go on the intercoastal? Bad business.

Dont be surprised if you see more family posting a out the same incident.

I saw a lot of poor reviews and after reading them was able to find that most issues stemmed from being restricted to where you can navigate and the fact that rental boats must stay inside the intercoastal versus heading out to open Gulf waters. If you travel up and down the coast you will find the same rules at all rental places for this size of the craft. It is not the owner but rather the safety rules set by Coast Guard regulations to keep you safe.

I have rented from Jeff at Treasure Island Rentals on multiple occasions in the past and always had great experiences on each encounter. If you call and tell them what you want to do before you show up they will tell you, yes or no, it is not up to them to change or modify the rules based upon what or why you want to do it.

If you want to spend a great day on the water, tubing, swimming and playing in the water and sun with your family then this is the place you need to go. They have good equipment, great service and will get you exactly what you are looking for. If they tell you to stay in a channel in an area then, by all means, stay in the channel, Florida coastal areas have lots of low water spots and the last thing you want is to damage an $800 prop and put the boat out of service.

I love to take my boat out and over to Egmont Key out in the open waters at the mouth of Tampa Bay, an amazing place. But you have to know the waters and they can be dangerous to small craft rental boats and are not permitted, know that before you go.

Otherwise a great rental location in some beautiful waters.

Awesome Experience!! John was excellent in explaining the maps, boat features, etc. Our boat was the exact same Bentley pontoon boat as shown in the picture. Had to review this place because they have come a long way after the previous ownership's awful reviews. We highly recommend this business.

I called to ask a couple questions about renting a boat since I hadn't before. I read online you could only go through the intracoastal, not in the gulf. So I asked him that and he said yeah you can't. Very direct and short- so I figured this would be an interesting phone call, but I continued anyway. I asked if there were sandbars in the intercoastal that we could stop off at and anchor the boat to swim. He said that I guess there are if I wanted to, but the water might be cold...that most people who rent a boat, go for a boat ride. (Well excuse me for wanting to visit a sandbar for 20 minutes during my 4 hour rental!) Again, very put off by this guy, but regardless I tried to be nice.

So then he asks if I have boating experience, and I said I've driven a boat before but I'm not a boater, no. I said do I need to have extensive experience to rent a boat? And he said well you need to know what you're doing. I said oh I didn't read any information on your website about any required amount of experience. He commented "well Hertz doesn't put online that you need to know how to drive a car either." At this point I'm like wow! Seriously?! I'm just asking simple questions. I understand you should have experience but I didn't know I needed to be an avid boater to rent one, since I've seen plenty of reviews from people saying they didn't have a ton.

He said "I'm sure you can find other places to rent from" and i said yeah I guess I will since you're being pretty rude to me, and then he hung up on me!! Maybe the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Just downright and uncalled-for RUDE! Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with this place- I rented elsewhere from friendly people. This guy is a jerk.
