In Castle season 2 episode 7, titled "Famous Last Words", Richard Castle and Detective Kate Beckett investigate the murder of a famous writer who dies under mysterious circumstances. The victim, a bestselling suspense novelist, apparently died of natural causes, but the detectives soon discover that the author's death was not accidental. As they delve deeper into the case, they find that the victim's last novel may hold the key to solving the crime.

As Castle and Beckett investigate, they must navigate through a web of clues and suspects in order to identify the killer. They discover that the murdered author had made many enemies in the publishing world, and that his final novel contained controversial themes that may have provoked someone to take revenge.

Complicating matters for the detectives, Castle's ex-wife (and the mother of his daughter) makes a surprise visit, throwing another wrinkle into their already complicated relationship. As Beckett becomes increasingly frustrated with Castle's unpredictable behavior, she must also deal with her own personal issues, including her unresolved feelings for her former partner.

Throughout the episode, Castle and Beckett engage in their signature banter and flirtation, even as they race against the clock to solve the murder before the killer strikes again. With a surprise twist at the end, "Famous Last Words" keeps viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
