1. Glenwood Springs Pool

Take a break from I-70 at this historic resort at the intersection of the Colorado and Roaring Fork rivers, once a place where Utes wintered. Nestled in a tight valley overshadowed by 13,000-foot peaks, this large sulfur-free mineral pool on Main Street has three slides and is open year round. Massages are offered; ourayhotsprings.com.

4. The Springs Resort & Spa

7. Sand Dunes Recreation Pools

Alamosa, Colo.

Take a dip in the recently renovated Sand Dunes Pool complex in the valley. The 10,000-square-foot greenhouse offers an adults-only experience with three soaking tubs, a 10-foot by 75-foot zero entry pool and a bar built in a shipping container.

Beyond the Greenhouse, families can frolic in a large pool fed by hot springs that features a diving board.
