In the series, Deathstroke is on Lian-yu and teams up with Oliver to escape by foiling Fyer's plans. In an explosion, one side of his face is burnt and he is near-death. Seeing no choice, Oliver injects him with Mirakuru (the Miracle Drug) which gives him superhuman strength and stamina.
