Where Can I Watch ‘Glee’ Now That It’s Left Netflix?

Last month, we delivered news that was so tragic, it rivaled Mr. Schue’s (Matthew Morrison) constant attempts to rap: Glee was leaving Netflix. Today, we’re here to once again destroy you happiness like Becky (Lauren Elizabeth Potter) destroys xylophones. All six seasons of Glee have officially left Netflix, and, at least for the time being, they are not available to stream anywhere else.

That’s right. Unless you have the DVDs or digital copies, there’s no way to legally stream Glee. If you have a Spotify subscription, you could always put on the music from the series and close your eyes as you imagine Rachel (Lea Michelle) belting out a note or Kurt (Chris Colfer) struggling with his sexy face. But we all know that’s not the same thing. Wondering how you can watch this priceless Fox gem? Here’s everything we currently know.

Where Can I Watch Glee?

Not on free streaming. The best choir show on television is currently only available for digital or physical purchase. That’s the bad news.

The good news is, if you’re willing to shell out the money, you can always buy Glee. On Amazon and Google Play, buying HD digital versions of the complete series will cost you a little over $119. On iTunes and Vudu, that same collection will cost you a far more reasonable $59.99. But the best deal so far applies to physical media.

Right this very second on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, you can buy the Glee box set complete with episode commentary for $59.36. You don’t just save a few cents with this deal. You also get the director’s cut of the pilot, a mini documentary about the making of “The Rocky Horror Glee Show”, something called “Glee in the City”, a guide on how to dress like your favorite characters, and so much more. Plus, I can say from personal experience that the honking, two-and-a-half-inch-wide mega set serves as an excellent conversation starter, inspiring statements like, “Is that Glee?” and “Why do you have every episode of Glee?” and “This is why you’re single.” It pays for itself.

Is Glee Going to Hulu?

At the moment, there’s no proof that Glee will be going to any other streaming service. But if the series does eventually come to Hulu, it won’t be surprising.

In 2017, Hulu added Glee to its library before the series was eventually removed from the streamer years later. Glee coming to Hulu also happened around the same time as a mass exodus of 20th Century Fox and FX content from Netflix. This occurred during the lead up to Disney’s acquisition of Fox, which was officially completed in spring of 2019. Long story short? It’s likely that Disney is still collecting their toys after buying Fox. Considering Glee‘s more adult themes, Hulu would be a good home for the series.

Is Glee Going to Disney+?

No, there are no known plans for Glee to come to Disney+. But that’s the other streamer that makes the most sense for New Directions’ future.

In Latin America, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, Glee is available on Disney+. Also, thematically, it’s the type of show that could potentially do well for the streaming service. Though Glee dealt with suicide, bullying, sex education, drug addiction, and a myriad of other mature issues, it’s still at its core a high school dramedy with a ton of great music. If there was ever a streaming service that catered to an audience interested in that highly specific thing, it would be Disney+.
