- Charlotte is completely besotted with Trey, who she just met by accident but already considers him, her groom. At a chic boat party Charlotte presents him to Carry, who is already tired of the meeting by fate story and bumps into Mr. Big there, without Natasha- despite her living with Aidan they clearly miss each-other. Samantha, who just moved to the meat packing district, is invited by a much older new neighbor, Len; discovering her period is five days late, she gets drunk and accepts to go all the way, but then nature steps in. - Carrie is happy with Aidan. She has to attend a magazine launch party on a yacht. Aidan opts to stay out as he prefers dry land. Carrie attends the launch with Charlotte and Trey. Carrie runs into Big, and she has no way out since the yacht is already at sea. Carrie tries to be as far away from Big as possible. Big finds Carrie and confesses that he misses her and can't stop thinking about her. Big says all the right things to Carrie, but at the wrong time and a year and a half too late.
Miranda gets annoyed with Steve's childish habits when he suggests they have a baby together. Miranda gives him enough hints that she is up for partner at her law firm and that this is a bad time to be thinking about babies, but Steve won't drop it and keeps bringing it up. Steve really persistent about having a kid with Miranda. Miranda says that babies are a lot of work. She will have to stay up all night and then go to work for 14 hours, since Steve has the night shift at work.
Miranda speaks to Carrie since she does want one eventually and her clock is running out. Miranda wants to have a conversation with Steve, but Steve is being childish by watching a cartoon and ignores Miranda. She realizes that she already has a full-time child in the house. Miranda tells Steve that she wants to put the baby conversation on hold for a while. Miranda is simultaneously pulling in crazy hours at work in the hope of making partner.
Steve suggests they get a puppy. Miranda is backed into a corner, when Steve says that he would take care of the baby and agrees. But then the puppy keeps her awake all night and Miranda is angry. She realizes that she is not the problem and that the problem is with Steve. Steve says that Miranda is sabotaging the relationship as she just not want it to work. Miranda breaks up with Steve and the next day she makes Partner at her law firm.
Charlotte falls in love with Trey (a doctor with family money) after only a few weeks of dating and is convinced he's "The One". But she is taking it slow with him. Only till 2nd base so far in 2 weeks. Charlotte says that she finds Trey sexy and does not want to ruin it with him by having sex too early. Trey tells Charlotte that he loves her. Charlotte sleeps with Trey for the first time.
Samantha believes she's hit menopause when her period is a week late. Her neighbor Len Schneider (Robert LuPone) is hitting on her, but he is an old loser. Samantha just ignores her. Samantha admits to the girls that she is a bit older than what she has led them to believe. Samantha is so depressed with her menopause theory that she accepts a date with Len. Len loves Cadillac and has an artificial hip. She decides to sleep with him, just to make him shut up.
While having sex with Len, her period starts, and everything is back to normal again!
