- Foul play is suspected when an apparent suicide victim still has the gun in his hand, and a flower delivery woman is found crushed to death in the middle of a Cirque du Soleil performance.
- During a performance of the world famous circus-act "Cirque du Soleil" the young investor Robert O'Brien's body is found dead on stage, apparently having shot himself. The gun belonged to co-investor Joe Hirschoff, who inherits his Eclipse shares and was deep in debt; however a rare muscular disease can explain O'Brien's finger position. In the Las Vegas club Ka, the young Celia Noel's body is found on stage; security cameras noticed her slip in back-stage with Arnie Clifton. Brass receives a high-profile honor, but puts the plaque away considering he committed an unforgivable rookie's error. The next morning Catherine wakes up naked in a bedroom, neither hurt nor robbed, but takes the evidence in rape-cases from herself.—KGF Vissers
- When a performer of the Cirque du Soleil finds the body of a young woman underneath the stage, Grissom and Catherine learn from the manager that the body was moved since she was in the crush zone. After several investigation, including of the surveillance video footage, Nick finds the victim was with a young man and discovers her purse in the ground cork. They find her name, Celia Noel, and tickets for every performance of the Cirque du Soleil. Soon they are able to resolve the case. Meanwhile, Capt. Brass, Sara and Warrick investigate the body of a man shot in the mouth with the revolver in his hand in a party promoted by Sam Braun to celebrate the implosion of the Rampart Casino to build his Eclipse Casino. Sam identifies the victim as Robert O'Brien, who was one of the investors with a few shares of Eclipse with his partner Joe Hirschoff, and he believes the shot was during the implosion. When CSI team learns that the revolver is registered in the name of Joe, he becomes a person of interest. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick go to a bar after-hours and Nick finds a female acquaintance and leaves Catherine to dance with the woman.
