- Brittany, in a funk, turns to the music of Britney Spears for inspiration. Rachel struggles to adjust to life in New York City.
- Open with Brittany talking about how great things are going in her senior year. Blaine looks over her shoulder and asks "Who are you talking to?" and she replies, "Oh. I thought I was doing a voice-over". This leads to her leading the Cheerios in a performance of "Hold It Against Me." Sue hates it and calls Brittany into her office. She says she can no longer tolerate the impact Brittany's terrible grades are having on the team and kicks her off of Cheerios. Brittany is no longer allowed to wear "the high pony", referring to her ponytail. Making matters worse is that Santana is busy at school and doesn't seem to have time for Britt.
July won't let Rachel even practice the tango, saying she doesn't have enough sex appeal.
Will and Emma tell Brittany they're worried about her seeming depressed and want her to meet with Emma regularly. Brittany passes. As she leaves the office she continues her voice-over.
In an effort to help Brittany, Will has Glee perform another week of Britney Spears songs: It's Britney 2.0. Up first is Blaine and Artie singing "Boyfriend."
Kurt and Rachel find a large, empty loft to rent for their housing. Over wine Kurt tells Rachel he's going to try and get a job at vogue.com. She tells him about July, and Kurt tells Rachel that "Crazy July" is infamous for blowing up during a Broadway performance when someone's cell phone went off. Kurt thinks she should stand up to July.
Marley tells Unique she's interested in Jake. Unique thinks he's bad new, leading to a performance of "Womanizer." Even after that, Marley tells Jake she's interested in hanging out.
Rachel asks Brody if he'll dance with her in July's class. He agrees.
Sam, Tina and Joe sing "Three." Brittany gets up and walks to the wall, where she plugs in her electric razor. She then proceeds to try to shave her head, ala Britney Spears. After Mr. Shue stops her, she is on the way to her locker and Jacob ben Israel rushes her with a microphone asking her all kinds of invasive questions. Brittany takes another page from Britney's book and attacks him with an umbrella as another student takes pictures.
Will confronts Jake about cutting classes. He apologizes for not taking Jake on in the first place and tells him how much Glee changed Puck. Jake insists that he doesn't need or want to change.
Jake and Marley perform a slow, accoustic version of "You Drive Me Crazy" in the bleachers. Afterwards they nearly kiss.
Brittany continues to act in a disturbing fashion, now talking only to her cell phone. The rest of the New Directions say they want to help her by having her be the lead performer at an upcoming assembly. She says she'll only do it if she can pre-record her vocals and lip sync. They reluctantly agree, with the understanding that Mr. Shue can not know.
Dressed in a sexy little black dress, Rachel performs "Oops I Did it Again" in July's class with help from Brody. July still isn't impressed, telling Rachel that she'll never get the sexy parts, just parts like Maria in Sound of Music and Shrek in Shrek. Brody tries to stop her, but Rachel charges that July is jealous of her and the rest of the students for their talent and for the fact that their careers are still ahead of them while the teacher's is over. She calls July a "You Tube joke". July tells Rachel that she is "done" and kicks her out of class. Brody speaks up for Rachel, but seemingly to no end.
Jake comes to the defense of Marley's mother after several jocks make fun of her at lunch. Will jumps in and brings him to meet Puck. Puck says he never truly became a man until he was in New Directions. He has to return to L.A., but tells Jake that he'll always be his brother.
The assembly goes terribly. Brittany is lethargic and eventually it becomes clear she was lip-synching. The kids are booing, the Glee club is humiliated and Will is furious, pointing out that this put them in jeopardy of being removed from future competitions.
July tells Rachel she's hard on the kids because of how hard the real world can be. Reluctantly she tells Rachel that she's still in, though she'll be on probation. She also makes her hand wash dance clothing.
Sam tells Brittany he knows what she was doing. She was intentionally hitting rock-bottom in order to be just like Britney Spears. Brittany goes to Sue and says she wants back in the Cheerios. Sue will do it, but she has to turn around her grades. Will and Emma are tutoring her.
Brody drops by Rachel and Kurt's place with flowers. He makes a move on her, but she says she can't do anything.
Marley is crushed to learn Jake and Kitty are dating.
Jake is introduced as the newest member of New Directions. This leads to Marley singing "Everytime."
Britney walks down the hall in her cheer uniform and high pony tail.
Rachel paints over the large "FINN" that she had put on her wall, surrounded by a heart.
