This class will be presented with a Powerpoint so that we can get an up close look at the castles, their features externally and internally, and items from those who lived in this castle. I have a Master's degree in history with ties to architecture. My recently published thesis in part includes how societal events and history impacted structures.
There will be mention of war and other large scale events (such as plagues) as part of the history of these locations.
We will reference or use the following sources throughout this class: Guidelines set forth or information provided by the American College of the Building Arts, The National Archives, English Heritage, Historic UK, Zigurat Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, and works by J. Mordaunt Crook and other articles from Architectural History Journal which are available on JSTOR.
