"The Italian Bob" is the 8th episode of The Simpsons' 17th season. It was first broadcast on the Fox network on December 11, 2005.[3] The episode was written by John Frink.[1] Mark Kirkland is the director of the episode.[1] The episode is about the Simpson family going to Italy. They learn that Sideshow Bob is the mayor of a town in Italy.[4]

Kelsey Grammer guest stars as Sideshow Bob.[1] Maria Grazia Cucinotta guest stars as Bob's wife, Francesca Terwilliger.[2] About 10.39 million people watched the episode when it was first broadcast[5] Grammer was given an Emmy Award in 2006 for being the voice actor of Sideshow Bob in the episode.[6] John Frink got a Writers Guild of America Award for writing the episode.[7]
