As the title implies it’s time for Seattle Grace to be invaded by the people from Mercy West as per the merger. I am sure this will bring lots of fun drama for the Grey’s crew. Tonight I’ll be watching with my best buddy Ken whose comments I will add in addition to my own. He’s probably funnier than I am.

9:00 – Izzie already starting a fight over someone from Mercy West using George’s locker. Mercy West all wear orange uniforms. [Ken: I hate orange uniforms]

9:01 – Meredith gives speech from Alien (the one Sigourney Weaver gives) to try and inspire the doctors and interns about the merger. Christina is being a Debbie downer.

9:05 – Callie’s dad shows up. He pretends to be all nice. But he brought a priest to pray Callie’s gay away. [Ken: I hate this scene]

9:09 – Arizona can kind of understand why Callie’s Dad is surprised and all. Callie hates her because she “is right… and awesome”. Haha- her words, not mine. But Arizona is pretty hot.

9:12 – Guy comes in. stabbed. Hooked up with friend’s nineteen year old daughter (Tom approves). Guy starts squirting blood. [Ken: I hate blood]

9:14 – New guy kinda hitting Izzie. Kinda not liking this guy so far. [Ken: I hate this guy, too]

9:15 – HR making chief use a pre-written speech to fire people. Stupid HR.

9:16 – Nineteen year old chick arrives to see her lover. Dad tries to attack dude with hammer. New person from Mercy West tackles guy to the ground.

9:22 – Meredith is still recovering so she’s in bed.

9:23 – Alex and new chick are also in a pissing match. [Ken: I hate that chick]

9:24 – Callie’s Dad is quoting all the mean Bible verses. Callie retorts with all the loving Bible verses. You go, girl! [Ken: I hate the Bible]

9:25 – Ken asks me if we can watch Top Gun on AMC instead.

9:29 – The thief patient steals the new girl’s (who is competing with Lexi) little diary book. It’s pretty funny what’s written in there. Apparently the new girl had plastic surgery. The thief things it’s the boobs. [Ken agrees it’s the boobs].

9:31 – All the Seattle Grace people are eating lunch when they realize that none of the Mercy West people are eating- they’re still working. Izzie is the only one who does not seem to be worried about getting let go. I think Izzie is getting fired.

9:32 – Izzie was being nice to Charles from Mercy West but he’s mouthing off to his colleagues about how Izzie is his “surgical b*tch” but Izzie hears. What a “you know what”. [Ken hates that guy].

9:34 – Ken really would prefer we watch Top Gun on AMC.

9:35 – Christina having a panic attack. Tom (me) starting to agree with Ken about Top Gun. Christina misses cutting people’s chests open and holding human hearts. She should watch “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” to get her “heart out of chest” fix.

9:42 – Lexi totally psychs out her competition by quoting her ridiculous inspirational diary. Dang, it wasn’t her boobs, it was her nose (that she got plastic surgery on). I love Lexi.

9:44 – Arizona was not named after the state but after the USS Arizona, for the battleship her grandfather was stationed on during the attack on Pearl Harbor (he saved eighteen sailors before he drowned). She tells this story to Callie’s arse of a father. [Ken: I like lesbians]

9:47 – Izzie almost kills someone by botching a lab reading or something. Bailey is pissed and thinks her conflict with Charles from earlier may have affected her judgment. [Ken: I think that dude- Charles- did it]

9:53 – Lexi feels bad. Thief’s remorse. *yawn* [Ken says “there is no such thing”]. Lexi gives the diary back

9:55 – Chief calls Izzie into his office. She’s getting canned. Chief explains that many people- including Alex- expressed concerns about her performance. I knew it!! Evil HR lady makes Chief stick to the speech. HR sucks.

9:56 – Callie’s Dad stops Callie on her way out and makes amends. It’s about time, jerk. [Ken says “two chicks would make me happy, too”].

9:57 – Alex has a note in his locker. I think Izzie is dumping him. Yes, he confirms Izzie left him when he goes to talk to Christina and Meredith.

Hmmm…. Well, I don’t think this episode was that great. Had a few good scenes but other than that the Mercy West people are hella annoying. And the good news is now Ken gets his wish: we can watch a little Top Gun! Thanks to my friend Ken for sitting through an hour of Grey’s Anatomy with me and his comments were of refreshing comedic value! Well, readers, what’s your two cents?
