What was going on this week with our Gossip Girl gang? I mean, there are usually many unbelievable things happening at once but when you see Chuck Bass hugging a puppy while crying, you know something has gone horribly wrong… In other news, fake Charlie is there to stay (was there ever any doubt?), Dan does look like a Muppet, Blair is in full denial mode and Nate acts like an idiot (well, I guess some things never change…) Oh, and did I mention Chuck freaking Bass is hugging puppies now?

Poor Dan

Dan is still stressed out by his book and Blair. With Dorota’s help, Dan wants Blair to read her paternity test results. (The two of them make a great team, FYI!) Of course, Queen B is in denial, so she avoids the subject by going shopping. Hey, it works for me! Nothing makes you feel better than go shopping when you’re feeling down. But she can’t escape Lonely Boy too long! The two decide to make a pact: they are both going to face their fears. You see, Dan went to his old mentor (I don’t remember that old man AT ALL!) for guidance but got called a coward instead, for not wanting to admit he wrote his novel. That’s cold. Also, apparently Dan’s book is apparently “brilliant”. Don’t get me wrong, I love Dan, but brilliant, really? Anyway, Dan’s mentor pretends he wrote the book to make Dan own up to it. It works like a charm! At the end, Dan receives in the mail an advanced copy, which looks like the cover of an actual Gossip Girl book. Nice touch, show!

Chuck Bass=dog lover?

Still in his poor me, I can’t feel anything phase, Chuck is annoyed at Dan’s attempts to make him feel something. He is particularly angry because of the puppy Dan bought. So cute! (BTW, I loved that shot of the two of them looking down and the hilarious look on their faces, PRICELESS!) Anyway, not much can shake Chuck’s stupor, until Blair shows up and announces she’s pregnant with prince boring’s baby. That scene was so tense, I almost believed her. But nevertheless, that bombshell finally seems to wake up our favorite bad boy and he ends up in bed weeping, holding “Monkey” the dog. There is a sentence I never thought I would write about Gossip Girl!

Blair

Our Queen B is more erratic than ever in this episode and I love it! Leighton Meester is really hitting it out of the park this season with this pregnancy storyline. This week, she got the results from the paternity test and she avoids it as long as she can. But things come to a head at the party of the week, when Dan pushes a little too hard, and she ends up pushing him on the floor. Hilarious! These two are my favorite part of the show (shocker, I know!), I just smile when they’re on screen together. Anyway, she finally tells Louis he’s the father and things seem to go smoothly until the end when we see the still unopened letter on her desk… Is Chuck still in the running?

Fake Charlie

Serena and Charlie are back in New-York this week and things seem to go well until Carol calls Lily (yeah, Lily’s back!) when she learns about the check from last week. Let’s just say she’s pissed and coming to New-York. Fake Charlie takes this as her cue to go but she forgot Serena doesn’t understand the meaning of “no”. So, as she’s about to leave, Serena tricks her into going to the fashion show/party of the week. When she gets there, they put her in a pink, fairytale dress. Seriously, I don’t blame her for not getting away, that dress was just gorgeous! Drama ensues, though, when Carol shows up and the two of them have a showdown. Fake Charlie finally threatens to reveal Carol’s whole stealing scheme from last season and Carol backs down. So it looks like fake Charlie is here to stay. But who is going to reveal her secret? Might it be…Nate?

Sherlock Nate

Nate begins his “internship” this week but quickly finds out Diana is using him only for sex. Sigh. Nate is such a pretty dumb boy. However, things may not be what they seem when Diana reveals to him that she’s more interested in gossip than in entertainment. So, she wants to beat Gossip Girl? Good luck with that lady! In order to get more gossip, she steals the phones of the guests at the party (they had to hand them in when they arrived). Nate adorably stashes away his friend’s phones but takes fake Charlie’s one. Could Nate actually uncover one secret? That would be a first!

I loved this episode, mostly the Dan scenes with Blair and Chuck. They were the heart of the episode for me and I want more! Do you think Chuck will keep Monkey? When are we going to find out who is Blair’s baby daddy? So much juicy gossip, so give us your two cents!

Love Dan and Blair too they are the best thing about the show for me .These two are the heart of the show and I swoon at how Dan is there bending over backwards for her even though he’s stress with his own problems because he love’s her unconditionally.I heard the writers are sticking with friendship with these to which is a shame because I do think Dan is her true prince in ways of a last name Bass or royal title could ever be tbh.

    Hi josey!
Here, here! I just think their scenes together are so much fun! I would just like the writers to give them a chance, they could date for a little while, right?

And the prince has to go, he’s just SO boring!

Perhaps I’m too old or too mature for my age compared to some GG fans and their idea of love – especially the pro-Chair fans. Dan and Blair are so meant for each other. He has has always been there for her…they have mutual interests apart from just passion and sex and they have different individual interests too, which will keep their lives together from being boring…yes, that lust, passion, craziness is great at 17 and cool when you’re in your early twenties too but for a long term relationship one needs companionship, friendship, mutual respect and lots of romance…with Chair it’ll always be one eye behind your shoulder – who’s cheating on whom, jealousies, anger, possessiveness etc – how long is that sustainable? Yes, it’s nice to see all that smoldering in a 1 hour episode but in real life that would be so destructive and frankly tiring and boring after a bit…even when they were together early seasons they had to resort to charades to keep the spark alive…with Dan and Blair I see both encouraging each other, growing together, leading richer, fuller lives – but such is the sad state of things that GG writers will cater to the lowest common denominator and make Chair end game. It leaves me so frustrated…! And the craziness of this episode! The Nate plot, Blair leaving such an important letter so casually in the drawer where anyone, including Louis and his sister could find it…come on! Sheesh!

Speak the truth ,it’s insane because basically they are saying if your a douche bag you can still get the girl but if your a hot nice guy who treats a girl like she deserves than you should stay friends.I know it’s just a show but to see the potiential and how amazing Dan and Blair are together it fustrates me to know they writers are gonna give in and play it safe by making CB and DS endgame because of history instead of taking a risk with DB like the writers did with Pacey and Joey on Dawson’s Creek and taking the show to a whole other level,I just hope i’m wrong but we’ll see.

    Thanks for the comments guys!

I think part of the problem is that Blair thinks she needs this so-called fairytale… Where is the strong girl from last season that wanted to be a successfull woman?
