In the wake of being told on Friday afternoon that NCIS: Los Angeles would end its run after this season, cast members of the high-octane CBS drama have one by one weighed in on the news.
Perhaps Eric Christian Olsen, who joined the NCIS spinoff as recurring during Season 1 (and became a series regular the following year), summed it up best. “What a spectacular journey we all shared,” he wrote, alongside a stunning BTS photo of his Marty Deeks in silhouette.
As reported by TVLine on Friday, NCIS: LA will be ending its run at the end of this season, its 14th, with the series finale airing Sunday, May 14 at 10/9c.
“What an amazing 14-year ride with my @ncisla family,” Chris O’Donnell shared on Instagram. “Just want to take a moment to say thank you to all of our amazing fans that tuned in every week. On to the next adventure!” Fellow original cast member/on-screen partner LL Cool J, meanwhile, noted on Twitter the recent and well-watched crossover event, before adding, “After 14 seasons, it’s the perfect time to end @NCISLA on top!”
“From season 1 to season 14, from 24 yrs old to 39, it has been an absolute dream,” fellow original cast member Daniela Ruah wrote on Instagram, alongside then-and-now photos of her Kensi Blye. “So many feelings to process and too many words to say. I will save them for a later date… I’m so so grateful to have been a part of this NCISLA family. The show lasted this long because of all of you ♥️.”
Caleb Castille, who made his debut as Devin Rountree in Season 11, tweeted, “Incredibly sad about the news that @NCISLA won’t be coming back to give you guys another season but man what an amazing accomplishment… 14 seasons! Shoutout to the best fans & crew in the world! I’m eternally grateful for the opportunity. Special Agent Devin Rountree signing off.” Medalion Rahimi, who plays Fatima Namazi, remarked on Instagram, “What a journey, so grateful for you all.”
Erik Palladino, who since Season 4 has popped up now and again as CIA vet/team frenemy Vostanik Sabatino, posted a really lovely series of Instagram stories in which he praised individual cast members as well as showrunner R. Scott Gemmill and others.
Palladino hailed LL Cool J (Sam) as “generous, as cool as it gets and kind,” Chris O’Donnell (Callen) as a “total pro,” and scene partners Ruah and Olsen as “a true blessing, everything you want when you are an outsider showing up to the new high school.” He touted both Linda Hunt (Hetty) and the late Miguel Ferrer (NCIS asst. director Owen Granger) as legends, called Castille “a find” and said of Medalion Rahimi, who plays Fatima, “a lovelier actress does not exist.”
NCIS: LA showrunner Gemmill in a statement issued on Friday thanked, among others, “[series creator] Shane Brennan for giving us such a great playground,” “my partners John P. Kousakis, Frank Military, Kyle Harimoto and Andrew Bartels, for their tireless efforts and collaboration episode after episode,” and a cast “who have brought our characters to life with their impassioned performances…. We look forward to delivering an end to the series that is both satisfying and does justice to these beloved characters.”

I hope they do well in future projects.
I have to say thank you to everyone involved, past and present, for 14 seasons of NCIS: LA. It’s been fun and I wish it didn’t have to end. I wish everyone the very best. I guess for me it’s going to be time for a series re-watch.
Great show –have so enjoyed it and so sad to hear its ending. Not many shows can go week after week and have a great story line, action and characters. Big loss for all!!
Thank you for 14 years!
One of the best shows on TV. Great cast and allways a great story line. So sad to see it end😣
Gutted… Best show ever
Worst show ever won’t be missed at all.
Series was brilliant 👏. Please carry on
DAMN! I jope it ends with Callen and Anna getting married by Hetty, Kensi and Deeks pregnant *bump and all* Sam and the insurance adjuster getting together…..and most of all, NO BODY BETTER BE DEAD!!!🤞🏾🤞🏾
Hear, hear to that! No deaths- PLEASE!!
Such an amazing and long running show deserves to go out with a happy ending. Thanks and Godspeed to all the cast & crew. You will be missed!
All good things…still, makes me sad. Best of luck to all and thank you!
Sorry to hear this show is ending..Hope they will change there mind on canceling this show..Maybe if we all conplain it will be pick up by another channel like Hawaii 5 O was..
It was Magnum PI that was picked up not Hawaii 50, but also very different circumstances.
Magnum is a CBS/NBC joint production vs just a CBS production and CBS still has 2 other NCIS shows (3 if you count the NEW NCIS Sydney that will be on Paramount+). Also cheaper cast with a renewal for a season 5 not 15.
Don’t want to see them go. Hope something changes and they keep NCIS LA on!!
I always wondered how they always got across the LA area so quickly!
Guess the show ends with Callen and Anna’s wedding, don’t see them having time to wrap up a lot of long running storylines though. Pembroke is still out there for Callen, as well as David Kessler for Kenzie. Not too mention the 3 remaining killers from the Monster case. Hope we get Hettie there in the finale, plus cameos from Nate, Eric and Nell. Would only seem right too if the actors can fit it into their schedule.
Well never say never look what’s happened with Criminal Minds. Who know maybe in a few years the bring the show back for their streaming platform and make it mini series with a more streamlined story.
The crossover was absolutely brilliant. Perhaps, going out on top could leave fantastic memories so they could do it again, sometimes, in the future. Hear that, suits? TV movies!
I just hope they allow for Callen and Anna to get married by Hetty in peace, I hope Kensi and Deeks get pregnant *no mishaps* and Sam and the insurance adjuster get together.
At least they are getting chance to wrap up the show, not like the last minute crap they pulled with H50….still mad at CBS for that.
NCIS LA is one of the most, well written detective series on TV. It constantly morphed and changed with new characters, new plot lines, and always left one guessing as to who the murderer was. In addition, after 14 years, I feel like all of the characters are part of my family.
And Hetty, what more can we say about Hetty? She definitely became a cultural icon on the show, even when her appearance was only hinted to. I welcomed them into my living room every week, and enjoyed the personal stories of their lives, as well as their detective abilities. There certainly was a great charisma between all of the actors. Very, very sad to see the show go and wondering why they canceled it
Well said. Speaks for me as well. Will miss this show a lot.
The only thing I literally could not stand on NCIS Los Angeles, was the addition of FATIMA. She DID NOT WORK. So stupid that after being physical with perps, her scarfs on her head we’re never ruffled! Only once was it removed. Definitely nota good choice for that show. Very poor acting by her as well. Just really screwed up my interest.
Of the 3 left this is not the one I would finish. Hawaii is not keeping my attention at all.
I still miss New Orleans too
No!!!! It can’t be time for it to end! I love this show and have since it first episode!
I am really sorry to hear that NCIS:LA is ending. All the NCIS shows are my favourite ones to watch and it is sad to see two of them ending in the last few year.
Best show ever you can feel the love and togetherness between the characters love watching you guys will miss you all terribly❤❤❤❤❤
Well said. And CBS let them leave on an upbeat note with no deaths and no sadness. I’ll miss you too, Admiral.
Gutted to hear LA ending however would be good to see Hetty come back for Callens wedding.
This is so upsetting. This show is phenomenal and to hear the network has decided to cancel this series is devastating. Last year other shows were canceled and replaced with shows like “so help me todd”. What a joke, the network execs for CBS should all be fired.
When they’re canceling shows like this, while the show called Ghost is on🤯…..make it make sense.
So sorry to hear the show is wrapping up my 96 year old dad and I love the show dad will be gutted to hear the sad news hoping there will be a change of heart and the show will continue on.
I’m so gonna miss NCISLA love everything. The story, all the actors and actress, plus the staff that work hard putting everything together to make the show so successful.
If you ever get to be back. PLEASE dont go on paramount! I can’t afford that
I’ve lost many good shows to them
Bad enough I have to pay to have TV channels
Anyway love all of you
Wish everyone the best
Huge hugs:)
Oh no say it isn’t so. What to do without Deeks!
I know Deeks, Callen and LL Kool J have you laughing, they are so funny 😂
Sunday evening was the kiss of death. Plus the story lines just got out of hand.
