Lily and Robin have a fight over Robin not treating her wedding like it's a big deal. Meanwhile, Ted tries to help Barney pick a suit for the wedding.
Plot
Ted and the Mother were having dinner together at the Farhampton Inn while a snowstorm is raging outside> Ted tries to pass the time telling stories to the Mother about every incident involving a snowstorm, including when Marshall and Ted were forced to snuggle in the car to keep warm while stranded in a snowstorm , when [[The Arizona State Marching band accompanied Marshall in welcoming Lily in the airport to return the favor ]]
This episode provides examples of:
- Bride Zilla: Notably averted by Robin, who plays hockey with her sister and binge-watches The Wedding Bride while drinking scotch hours before getting married. Her "couldn't care less" about her wedding attitude is the reason behind her argument with Lily.
- The Bus Came Back: Robin's little sister shows up, also The Lad-ette hockey player.

- Marshall calls Barney Swarley.
- Lily reveals that she and Marshall planned to borrow Robin's photographer, because the photos of her own wedding were terrible. They even brought the gown and suit with them.
- Comically Small Bribe: Ted bribes the hotel concierge to divulge the name of guest who booked the room Barney entered with five dollars. The concierge cites their hotel privacy policy, but whispers he'll take anything with a zero at the end. Ted pays him 20 bucks.
- Foreshadowing: During the flashforwards to 2024, Ted seems sad for an unspecified reason. Come the end of the episode, they both tear up when Tracy asks what mother would miss her daughter's wedding, lending credence to a longtime fan theory of her being a Posthumous Character, and come the series finale, the theory is
officially confirmed. - Pun: "Susan Tupp" is the longer pseudonym for "Sue Tupp," which sounds similar to one of Barney's favorite catchphrases. The room was booked by Barney as a place to keep all of his suits, as he has trouble picking which one to wear on his big day.
- Shipper on Deck: The concierge, Curtis, isn't willing to hook Ted up with the guest in Room 9 (even though that's not what Ted wants), because he wants Ted to hook up with the guest in Room 6... also, he probably knows it's Barney's suit room and is willing to take Ted's money.
- The Un-Reveal: Lily accidentally let it slip to the rest of the Gang that Ted is moving to Chicago the day after the wedding. Except that all of them already knew: Ted told Barney when they were thinking of getting Scotch and Robin when they were walking at the beach while Lily, who is not one to hide things from her husband, already told Marshall (he reveals that she pocket-texted him while Ted was telling her).
