Go To

"The Habitation Configuration" is an episode of The Big Bang Theory that first aired on November 8, 2012. Directed by Mark Cendrowski. Teleplay by Steven Molaro, Steve Holland and Maria Ferrari, based on a story by Chuck Lorre, Eric Kaplan and Jim Reynolds.

Wil Wheaton (As Himself) guest stars in an episode of Sheldon's Fun with Flags show, but Amy keeps finding fault with Wheaton's delivery. Sheldon is caught in the middle, but he of course fails to take Amy's side like she wants.

Meanwhile, Bernadette wants Howard to completely move out of his mother's house.

Tropes

  • Innocent Innuendo: Sheldon hands Wil a Wesley Crusher action figure and tells him to "feel free to play with yourself."
  • In Vino Veritas: Being drunk on Long Island iced tea, Sheldon walks over to Wil Wheaton's house to fight him and defend Amy's honor. Mostly, however, he just throws up on the bushes.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: Sheldon is so drunk that when he knocks on Wil Wheaton's door, he forgets whether he knocked two or three times. A few moments into his conversation with Wil he remembers and does the third knock.
  • Shout-Out:
    • To Stand by Me: Sheldon compliments Wheaton's performance in that movie.
    • To The Secret of NIMH: Sheldon compliments Wheaton's performance as Martin the mouse.
    • To The Wizard of Oz: Penny compares Sheldon to the Tin Man before the Wizard gives him a heart.
    • Multiple to Star Trek: The Next Generation: along with the obvious references to Wheaton's role as Wesley Crusher, the number of his house is 1701, same number that's in the registry of the Enterprise (NCC-1701-D).
  • Too Dumb to Live: Howard tells the story of how he found out he was allergic to nuts. He was eating his Halloween candy when he went into anaphylactic shock after eating some peanut M&Ms. Then after getting back home from the emergency room, he celebrated by eating a Snickers bar, after which he had to go back.
Raj: When did you figure out you were allergic to nuts?
Howard: About the time I had my third Almond Joy.
  • Unsuspectingly Soused: Penny gets Sheldon drunk on Long Island iced tea, after which he confronts Wil over how he treated Amy.
    Wil Wheaton: Are you drunk?
Sheldon: Just tea. Best tea I've ever had.
