- Harsher in Hindsight: Regarding the Republicans repealing regulations, many things becomes unintentionally true:
- At the beginning of the episode the Springfield Republican Party is discussing things to do and Krusty suggests putting PBS out of business. With the Republican Party attempting to cut funding to the channel in the 2010s, Krusty's comment proves to be prophetically accurate.
- Same with the repealing of environmental laws, as when Scott Pruitt became head of the EPA he tried his hardest to undermine the agency by getting rid of as many environmental laws as he possibly could, which naturally had disastrous results.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Marge. Yes, it's understandable that she would be upset that Homer got married to Amber while in Vegas. However, Homer showed genuine remorse and made it abundantly clear that the whole thing only happened because he was piss-drunk (and he doesn't love her at all, only Marge), and that nothing other than the marriage happened between them, yet Marge acts as though it was deliberate and treats this as the worst thing he's ever done. Worse, Marge kicks Homer out of the house after being unable to divorce Amber (because Judge Harm wouldn't let him), even though he tried to make things right.
