- Crosses the Line Twice: Hans' Moleman getting his last meal eaten? Cruel. Him complaining about it, only to be told "If that's the worst thing to happen to you today, then consider yourself lucky" (by a pastor)? Darkly funny.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Homer using Marge's police tape on Ned's house to fool him into thinking that his family's dead is not as funny as it was when his first wife, Maude, eventually died for real (as did his second, Edna Krabappel). To make matters worse, Homer was the one who (unintentionally) killed Maude.
- Memetic Mutation: The scene where Homer chooses to waive his Miranda Rights and starts yelling. Cue variations that replace his yelling with other loud noises like The Emergency Broadcast System tone, a snippet of the PlayStation 2 startup, and so on.
- One-Scene Wonder: The twitchy Gun Nut cadet:Wiggum: All right, you scrawny beanpoles: becoming a cop is not something that happens overnight. It takes one solid weekend in training to get that badge.Gun Nut: Forget about the badge! When do we get the FREAKING GUNS?Wiggum: Hey, I told you! You don't get your gun until you tell me your name!Gun Nut: I had it up to HERE with your "RULES"! [walks away]
- Unintentional Period Piece: One of the mobsters mistakes Marge for Gloria Vanderbilt, who died in 2019. Of course, this can remain funny if one were to interpret the mobster freaking out over being confronted by Vanderbilt's vengeful ghost.
