Wout Wijsmans (born July 17, 1977 in Hasselt) is a Belgian volleyball player but since 2010, he has the Italian nationality were he plays in the highest competition since 1999. Wijsmans is the son of Noël Wijsmans and Moniek Cauberghe which were also volleyball players. He grew up in Zonhoven, Scandinavia and Canada. He began his career in 1994 by Trudo Zonhoven. He won the Belgian cup in 1996 with Zonhoven but in 1997, he moved to Noliko Maaseik were he won the Supercup two times, the cup two times and the championship two times. In 1999, he moved to Italy were he played for Yahoo! Italia Volley Ferrare but in 2001, he goes to Lube Banca Macerata were he won the CEV Champions League in 2002 and the cup in 2003. In the same year, he was elected as best player in Italy. In 2003, he moved to Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo. Wijsmans won the cup again in 2006. Later, he was appointed as team captain and plays since 2010 with number ten. He has a contract until 2012. In season 2013/14 he played for Chinese team: Beijing BAIC Motors Club. Now he is player of Turkish team: Fenerbahce Istanbul.
