When season 3 was ending, I was still unsure if there was going to be a season 4, and EVEN IF THERE WAS A SEASON 4, how the chemistry in the choir room would be absolutely different. It tore me apart to see them going their separate ways, the episode where Mr. Schue wants to do his wedding in May because he was too afraid to admit that he'll miss them out loud because it was coming to an end, really hit home. I thought to myself that even if there is a season 4, it'd be totally different, and I was saddened by it. HOWEVER, I love GLEE, and I believe LIFE IS A MUSICAL. There is always a song to describe how you're feeling at that exact moment, so I knew no matter what I'd be watching. As for SEASON 4, I am NOT DISAPPOINTED at all. I actually like the new characters, Marley, Ryder, Dean, & Jake. I was also excited to see Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson. I do not like the character KITTY at all. I thought in "GLEASE" she should have been exposed for making Marley's outfits smaller, and persuading her to be bulimic . I don't think as her character grows in this season, that I could ever be fond of her. She is seriously mean. Even when Santana was mean, she still had a heart. Marley is absolutely adorable, kind of reminds me Ariel, I think her and Ryder would make such a cute couple. Kudos to her mom too. I believe they are the best addition in GLEE so far.

The Finn/Rachel/Dean thing, that ONE hurt to see at first but I honestly think TIME will bring FINCHEL back together. Glee without FINCHEL just makes no sense. As for Klaine, I cannot see these two being with ANYONE ELSE other then each other.

A very favorite of mine. Entertainment without profanity, nudity or violence. Great music. Love this series.

I was skeptical of how Glee would work this year, especially with the first few episodes. They were okay but not the punch that seasons before had been. I really enjoyed the episode about super heros, and finally the directors dedicated time to developing new characters to where I was looking forward to seeing them and wondering how they would progress. It has been excellent since then - I have to say that I have been pleased with seeing more of Darren Criss: Love the voice! The new characters all have great voices. I like that the series is incorporating new themes such as learning problems and weight issues - they are relevant to us today and certainly have opened up season 4 to something new. And the balance of graduated Glee kids to current high school students has progressed well after the first few episodes. I may have rated the season a 3+ at the beginning, but it is worth a five as we approach the middle of season 4. I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out.

The Glee story is clearly staring to wind down as the characters graduate from high school and go in their own directions. This season, although good, is losing some of the pizazz that made Glee so popular. While the cast together made one heck of an unbeatable casting and story line, as they go their own directions, that is starting to be lost in a big way. They should have just recast and added casts for every season so that as the ones who graduate are phased out, we would still have the others that we knew and loved and the saga could continue as long as the same great casting happened. Sadly, I don't see it going in that direction. With that being said, any Glee fan needs to make this part of their collection and let's see it to the end.

I agree with some of the other reviewers who said that season 4 was mediocre compared to the first few seasons. Maybe it's because this was the season the cast was touring doing live shows and they were overworked and weren't practicing enough for their TV performances. When I saw the first season of Glee I remember thinking the series was groundbreaking and impressive, particularly in the first few episodes when we saw the scene of Finn performing in the shower and Quinn sing "Say a Little Prayer." Now however I find most of the performances to be just so-so. I personally do not think that the Kurt and Blaine characters can sing that well, yet they always seem to be given solo acts. I like the story line between the two of them, but Kurt's character is so snooty and contemptuous, and though they both can sing, they always sound just a little flat and seem to lack charisma. Finn and Puck are not that talented either, even though every once in awhile they give an emotional performance. I wish we would see more of Sam and Joe. They both have sex appeal, and talent. I'll be honest, I'm a woman in my thirties, but I still want to see some sex appeal from the male characters, and if the Sam character would take his shirt off more often, I wouldn't mind that either. I also wish we would see more performances from Will as well. The performances he did in the first season were sexy. There was one episode where he and Mike were dancing and it was amazing. More Mike and Tina performances would be great too. Also, the Sue character storyline is getting old. It's as if she is repeating the same lines every season and it's just not funny anymore. It's too predictable. Maybe they should have her do a complete 180, and become a born again christian, or go visit an ashram in India and come back as a new-age hippie. That might be more entertaining. The new character Kitty is really good too, but Maddie's sweet and innocent persona is really getting on my nerves. The new guy they brought in to play the lead in Grease lacks sex appeal too. I'll say it again, we really need to see much more of Sam and Joe. I almost didn't mention Rachael, because it goes without saying that she is the life of the show.

Great DVD in excellent condition, really great price. A little slow in arriving which was not a big deal and not unusual these days. Very satisfied with the service and my purchase.

Reckoned by Gleeks and the critics as the series in which Glee took a sharp turn for the worse, actually rewatching these episodes in "box set" mode reveals a better performed, more coherent storyline than the first TV showing suggested. It helps knowing how it all turns out, that the unappealing story arc for the central character Rachel Berry, which seemed to be more about Lea Michele playing a monstrous version of herself, got reined back in the show's final season. Rachel's unstoppable (and remarkably easy) rise to super stardom through a barely deserved title role in the Broadway revival of "Fanny", isn't quite as annoying when you know what's in store for her!
