Mario Batali--Big American Cookbook: 250 Favorite Recipes from Across the USA Hardcover – October 4, 2016
Purchase options and add-ons
Over two years in the making, with Batali searching for truly delicious dishes from all corners of the US, this definitive cookbook features the best America has to offer. With over 250 simple recipes celebrating the treasures of the state fairs and the dishes of the local rotary clubs and ethnic groups. Batali has interpreted these regional gems with the same excitement and passion that he has approached traditional Italian food.
Covering the Northeast/New England, the Mid-Atlantic, the Gulf Coast, the Great Lakes, the Heartland, the Southwest, and the Pacific Coast, this book will share everything from the BBQ styles of Texas, the Smokeys and the Carolinas, to the seafood soups from yankee Boston to the spicy gumbos of the Gulf Coast and the berry pies of the Pacific Northwest.
All the dishes are very simple and do-able--from Philly Cheesesteaks to Marionberry cobbler. And while Batali uses recipes passed down through the generations, he also shares hints on what he would add to the recipe to take the flavor up a notch.
This is THE American cookbook you will want to own.

About the authors
Mario Batali's world now encompasses three New York City restaurants -- Babbo, Lupa, and Esca -- as well as a wine store, The Italian Wine Merchant. He is the host of Food Networks popular Molto Mario, as well as an upcoming new series, Mario Batalis Italy. He lives in New York City with his wife and two sons.
The only thing Jim Webster likes to do more than eat is write about eating. Okay, that's kind of a lie -- he loves them both equally. When not at his job as a copy editor at the Washington Post, he can be found at farmers' markets, in the kitchen or crafting stories about the chefs and farmers who feed us all. He is the co-author of two New York Times best-selling cookbooks, and of the upcoming Casa Mono Cookbook (Oct. 2018). He has developed recipes for contests, and won twice, with dishes called "pig-wrapped, pig-stuffed pig" and "adovado + avocado." In his work at newspapers, he has been named the best headline writer in the country five times and has tested recipes for the Washington Post and cookbooks.
