Lisa Jane Smith is the New York Times #1 Bestselling author of The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, The Forbidden Game, Dark Visions, Wildworld and Night World series. She has written over two dozen books for children and young adults, and has enjoyed writing every one of them. She lives in the Bay Area of California, with a backyard that is full of flowers, which she adores, especially with many different shades of roses.

She loves to visit a friend’s little cabin in the Point Reyes National Seashore area, which has lots of trees, lots of animals, lots of beaches to walk on, and lots of places to hike. Once, while hiking, she saw a snow-white buck which allowed her to follow it nearly half a mile. She also likes to collect things: angels (they remind her of her late mother), tiny boxes from different countries or of fanciful shape, nineteenth century children’s literature, and books about quantum physics—especially about the mystery of the dark energy in the universe. A militant optimist, she is also part of the Velociraptor Sisterhood (a fancy way of saying that she likes to read, write and discuss books with strong female characters), and she has traveled extensively in Europe and the Far East. The two countries she loves to visit most are Great Britain, with its historic monuments and amazing country landscapes, and Japan, with its bustling urban life and exquisite mountain scenery.

Her favorite current writer is Terry Pratchett, the author of the Discworld series, for its wild and witty satires on life, death, war, love, assassins, coppers, and Australia. Her favorite classical writer is Jane Austen. Her favorite poets are Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson. Her favorite movies are The Seven Samurai and Avatar (analyze that!). She doesn’t have a favorite TV show, because she doesn’t have time to watch TV (and only owns one for playing movies).

Her favorite people are her readers, each of whom she cherishes with deep and lasting affection.

I really loved these diaries as it was great to go back in time to see how Stefan and Damon were before they were vampires and how they met Katherine. It was sad to see how much Damon hated Stefan for turning him but there was always hope they would rekindle their 'friendship'. Stefan was always looking for his 'place' and struggled with his new lifestyle and could never quite be happy. Both brothers always seem to get together to try conquer evil. It was so interesting to see the witches start to ease into the story, as I wondered when this would happen.

Without giving any of the stories away in this series, the books follow the Salvatore brothers early in their lives after being turned into vampires. Stefan, surprisingly, is the more aggressive of the brothers while Damian tries at first to do the right thing. Eventually, the tables turn and the brothers become more antagonistic to one another. Sometimes, they have to work together but it is not without tension. It is a good book series which follows the television series more and gives background to the brothers Salvatore.

Endlich ich das große Finale da und wir lernen viele neue Leute kennen. Stefan, Damon und Cora sind zusammen einfach der Hammer und man bekommt nie genug von ihnen. Ich hatte so das Gefühl nachdem Stefan seinen Bruder befreit hat, ist Damon anders ihm gegenüber geworden, mehr brüderlich!! Die Beiden sind so niedlich zusammen!!

Die Hexen konnte ich von Anfang an nicht leiden, die sind so überheblich. Aber naja die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Vampire und Hexen hat ja noch nie so ganz geklappt. Aber eins wissen wir jetzt auf jeden Fall, Samuel war nicht Klaus, er kann es gar nicht gewesen sein, da.... lest selber!! Aber dafür wurde Elijah erwähnt, er kam zwar leider nicht vor, aber man kann ja nicht alles haben!!

Fazit: Das Buch war super spannend, sehr blutig und doch sehr ergreifend!! Das Cover ist zum dahinschmelzen, is ja auch Ian Somerhalder!! Es war wieder super flüssig zu lesen und die Handlung wurde nie langweilig!! Bloß das Ende fand ich ein bisschen schade, da ich dachte Stefan würde sich anders entscheiden, aber seine Entscheidung ist vielleicht die Beste, wenn man bedenkt was geschehen ist!! Hoffentlich kommen noch mehr Bände von Stefan' Diaries oder vielleicht sogar Damon's Diaries!!
