One thing you should know about Washed Out (real name: Ernest Greene) is that he loves to binge watch House of Cards. However, in Billboard‘s series “You Should Know,” you get to learn even more about the singer-producer.
He started writing songs on the guitar around the age of 14 or 15. It was “years and years of making really bad songs,” he jokes. He even explains the inspiration behind his current single “Hard to Say Goodbye”.
“On a production level, it was influenced by a lot of, kind of, house music,” he says. “It’s just a simple love song, really. It was written about my wife and a situation that happened a few years back.”
