• Former Criminal Minds star Shemar Moore sent out a suspicious tweet, and we're convinced it's a hint he might be returning to the show.
  • The executive producer has also mentioned the possibility of bringing back former characters for the final season.

As a lifelong Criminal Minds super fan, I was devastated when the police procedural announced it was ending after 15 incredible seasons. I started the grieving process by binging hours of reruns, but now I've come across my new favorite way to cope: speculation. I have a few wild theories about what the closing chapters of the show may hold. But my favorite is fueled by one of the most beloved and beautiful faces to ever appear on the series: Shemar Moore, who was once as known Derek Morgan.

The actor, who now plays Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson on S.W.A.T., recently sent out a tweet that could very well be a hint he's returning to the BAU. In a post promoting a new episode of S.W.A.T., Shemar wrote, "Homies, Fans, n BabyGirls!!! There’s an ALL NEW , EPIC episode of #SWAT this Thursday."

On the surface, it might not seem like this posting has anything to do with Criminal Minds—but there are two little words in there that are a direct reference to the show. "Baby girl" is almost exclusively what supervisory special agent Derek would call his co-worker and dear friend, Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness). Another interesting tidbit I'd like to point out is after a thorough search of Shemar's social media, I didn't find another instance where he referred to his fans as "baby girls," so it could be definitely is a clue.

We could all use more Derek Morgan in our lives!

I'm not the only one who picked up on the reference, either. A few social media users also noticed his word choice, and responded accordingly. "Yes anything for you my sweetness...'In Penelope Garcia's voice,'" someone wrote, while another added, "You had me at baby girl."

Okay, and even if that one tweet isn't enough evidence for you to believe Derek will grace our small screens once again, the show's executive producer has actually mentioned the possibility of bringing back former characters for the finale, so it certainly could happen. I know I have my fingers crossed!
