The episode opens with Blair checking Gossip Girl and finding out that the website is under construction. She frets that people won't know she is starting Columbia today. Meanwhile, at her home Serena reveals that she is excited about starting college and is pleased Gossip Girl isn't around. Eric warns that Gossip Girl could be preparing something big, adding that the site says '"under construction" and not "out of service".

At Columbia, Blair admits that she is glad she can't read about Chuck on Gossip Girl and asks how Serena is feeling about being at college with Nate. Serena insists that she is still friends with him, even if he is dating Juliet. Blair says there will probably already be students fighting over Serena and adds that they need to stick to their "divide and conquer" plan. She explains that they can meet at Hamilton House, an exclusive society, adding that an anonymous board picks the students who become members. She reveals that they have to go to a "key master" to find out if they have received a key and a place in the society.

The duo arrive at Hamilton House, where they meet Blair's former follower Penelope. She reluctantly directs them to the key master, who turns out to be Juliet. When they approach, Juliet pretends that she doesn't know who Serena is. She looks in the bag and claims that there is only one key left before handing it to Blair, forcing Serena to leave. At that moment, everyone in the room receives a message from Gossip Girl announcing that Chuck is in town with Eva and is visiting Lily, that Georgina is in St Barts and that Serena did not receive a key.

Blair catches up with Serena outside Hamilton House and says that she could refuse the membership, adding that a club that only takes one of them is not one she wants to join. However, Serena urges her to accept the place and claims that Hamilton wasn't right for her anyway. They agree to catch up for dinner later.

That evening, Blair is with the other members of Hamilton House, talking about dating a prince. When Serena calls, Blair asks the other society members if she can invite her to join them but Juliet refuses, explaining that the event is for club members only. She adds that Blair shouldn't tell Serena where she is because it will make her feel bad. Speaking to Serena again, Blair claims that she is just walking into her building, but Juliet interrupts her telling her not to leave. On the phone, Blair asks Serena if she can take a rain check on their dinner plans, explaining that she feels like a bubble bath. Serena hangs up and opens her laptop to discover that Gossip Girl is streaming a live feed of Blair with the other Hamilton House members.

The next day, Serena approaches Blair and says she shouldn't cover up her society events. Blair apologises, explaining that she was "drunk on gin and attention" and reveals that Juliet told her not to tell Serena the truth in case she hurt her feelings. Serena is scornful, explaining that Juliet doesn't care about her feelings because she is dating Nate and pretended to forget her name. "If anything, she's behind all of this," she adds. Blair is surprised, saying: "You can't believe you didn't get in. You've never lost before. This isn't a conspiracy, Serena, face it. Hamilton House just didn't want you." When she leaves, Serena spots another student celebrating getting a key. She asks her if she has just received it and the girl confirms that she has.

Later, Serena confronts Juliet about the keys and explains that she saw a student get one this afternoon. Juliet admits that Blair's key wasn't the last but says she thought that would be more awkward. She adds that Blair was the one behind Serena's omission from Hamilton House, claiming that she contacted the board to tell them about Serena's sex tape. She suggests that Blair didn't want Serena to steal her spotlight at Columbia.

That night, at the Fashion Night Out event, Penelope and the other Hamilton House members are looking at a Gossip Girl blast, which shows a stream of Serena confronting Blair about Hamilton House. Juliet arrives and plugs one of the phones into the televisions at the party so that the argument is broadcast. When Serena and Blair begin to fight, Juliet claims that they have seen enough and rips open the curtain Serena and Blair are behind. However, she discovers them sitting calmly together, having staged the fight earlier and asking Gossip Girl to broadcast it.

Blair tells Juliet that her ploy to split her up from Serena would have worked in high school but not now, while Serena explains that she would never believe Juliet over Blair. Juliet continues to protest her innocence but Serena explains that they know people on the alumni committee and Lily arrives, revealing that half the board members at Bass Industries are alumni. She adds that Serena was always on the top of the list. As the Hamilton House members go to join Serena and Blair, Juliet storms off and Nate begins to follow her. Serena asks if he is really going after her, and Nate claims that he was unimpressed by Serena's plot. When she asks if he is angry with her, Nate explains that she cheated on him, dumped him and disappeared and is now acting as if nothing changed. He adds that it took him until now to realise how angry he is. Nate finds Juliet and asks if she really shut out Serena because of him. She admits that she did and they eventually kiss, as Serena watches. Blair joins her and comforts her.

Later, Serena and Blair are at Blair's house having a chat. Blair reassures Serena that she will survive college and adds that she has the best off-campus housing. When Serena asks what she means, Blair takes her through to a bedroom and invites Serena to move in.

Elsewhere, Eva is enjoying Chuck's life, which she describes as "perfect", while Chuck later apologises to Lily for his treatment of Jenny. Lily welcomes him home, and asks when she can meet Eva. She suggests that Chuck brings her to the Fashion Night Out party so they can get to know each other, and promises to smooth things over with Rufus.

Rufus and Eric discover from Gossip Girl that Lily met up with Chuck. When Rufus arrives home, he confronts Lily about it and she admits that she spoke to him. She adds that Rufus has every right to be upset with Chuck but explains that he is trying to change. She adds that she has invited Chuck and Eva to the Fashion Night Out party and asks Rufus to give him a chance. Rufus agrees, explaining that Jenny has told him the problems weren't Chuck's fault.

Later, Eva is trying on dresses for the party in a shop. Chuck is with her but tells her he has to go to see his lawyer. When she suggests that she doesn't know what to buy, Chuck tells her to get everything. Blair then comes across Eva and says she is surprised to see her in the shop. Eva praises Chuck and says that she doesn't want to hurt Blair, but Blair claims that Chuck will end up hurting Eva. "He'll realise that it doesn't matter if the dress is couture if the girl is off the rack," Blair says. "As with all things that don't fit you'll get sent back to where you came from."

Later, Chuck waits for Eva so that they can go to the fashion party. Eva enters the room, but is not dressed to go out. She explains that she ran into Blair and says that some of what she said made sense. Chuck explains that Blair uses people's vulnerabilities and explains that he is glad Eva isn't too comfortable in his world. He says that is the reason he loves her and why everyone else will when they meet her. Eva agrees to get dressed and go to the party.

Eric and Rufus are getting ready for the party, and Rufus explains that Lily invited Chuck and Eva. He adds that everyone deserves a second chance. Eric points out that Chuck has had lots of chances and reveals that Chuck tried to rape Jenny when she was a freshman. He adds that he believes Chuck will never change.

At the Fashion Night Out party, Eva admits that she is feeling nervous. Chuck decides to take her to meet Lily, but changes his mind when he spots Rufus and Eric. He tells Eva to go and get a drink, and approaches Rufus and Eric to apologise. However, they refuse to accept the apology and Rufus asks where Eva is so he can warn her about Chuck. As he speaks, Eva arrives with a drink. However, when Rufus asks if Eva is Chuck's new girlfriend, he claims that she is not with him.

Later, Lily approaches Chuck and reveals that Rufus told her what happened. She adds that she has smoothed things over and tells him that she loves him, adding Eva will too. At that moment, Chuck spots Eva trying to leave in his car and runs over to stop her. He explains that he was not ashamed of her, but of himself. He adds that he couldn't risk losing her by telling her about his past, but she suggests that she is about to leave and adds: "Tell me who the hell you are, Chuck Bass."

Later, Blair and Chuck meet inside. Blair asks him if he is still with Eva and he admits that he no longer is, but at that moment Eva walks in. She admits that it was hard to hear what he has done in the past but explains that she has seen who he can be and chooses to believe in that man. They kiss and Chuck takes her to meet his family.

Meanwhile, Dan is shocked when Rufus tells him that he cannot be Milo's biological father. When Dan discovers from Gossip Girl that Georgina is in St Bart's, he phones hotels there to try to get hold of her. Later, Dan tells Vanessa that none of the hotels in St Bart's have a record of Georgina and suggests that she could have moved to a different island or used a different name. He adds that she took her passport, admitting that he doesn't think she will return.

Dan and Vanessa take Milo to a foster care facility but Dan refuses to leave him there. He explains that there is no guarantee that Milo will be adopted and adds that there is already an entire wall of photographs of children needing homes. He says that if Georgina doesn't turn up, he will keep Milo. Dan considers dropping out of school but points out that he would still need a job and a nanny. Vanessa offers to help, explaining that she could move in to look after Milo. Dan asks if she is sure, explaining that it is beyond girlfriend duties. Vanessa points out that today is the last day she can withdraw from campus housing and get her money back.

Later, Dan is holding Milo and tells him that he is going to be his dad even if he isn't his biological father. Someone knocks at the door, and Dan discovers Georgina outside. He tells her that he knows she wasn't at a spa and that Milo isn't his son, but Georgina claims someone was trying to kill her. She reveals that she slept with a Russian businessman called Serge and claims that his wife Oksana threatened to kill her when she found out she was pregnant. Dan is unconvinced, but Georgina explains that she thought if Oksana thought the child wasn't Serge's, she might leave her alone. She adds that Dan saved her life by signing the birth certificate and explains that she missed Milo while she was in St Bart's. She reveals that her family have had therapy and says they are going to let her move home. Dan refuses to let her take Milo but Georgina points out that there's nothing he can do because Milo is not his child. When Vanessa arrives and asks what's going on, Dan replies: "Milo's going home."

Later, Dan is sitting in Milo's nursery holding one of his toys. Vanessa enters and asks if she should take all of her things back to her dorm now that Milo won't be there. However, Dan admits that he wants her to stay.

The episode ends with Juliet visiting a man in prison. She admits that the "girls are presenting a challenge" but promises the man that she will "get it done".
