Sarah Shahi has confirmed that she will be back on Person of Interest full-time.

The actress, who plays Sameen Shaw on the CBS drama, left last season to become a mother to twins, but that exit was only temporary.

"I go back in September - full-time," she revealed to TVLine yesterday (August 10). "I'll probably do eight or nine [episodes]."

Back in January, when her shocking exit scenes aired, Shahi suggested that a return wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility.

"Given what's going on in my life right now, it would definitely be a challenge to go back with two infants and try to be present as the character and to meet the demands of the show," she said at the time. "But who knows? It's definitely a goodbye for now, but not goodbye forever."

She went on to make two uncredited appearances after her departure.

Person of Interest was renewed for a fifth season, although for a shortened 13-episode run. It will return on CBS in the US as a midseason replacement.

Channel 5 airs the show in the UK.
