Desperate Housewives quickly became one of the biggest shows on television after launching in 2004, with viewers captivated by the soapy melodrama of Wisteria Lane.
But how has the main cast fared since it came to a rather anticlimactic end eight seasons later? The show finished four years ago. But which cast member won Desperate Housewives? In reverse order…
11. Nicollette Sheridan
Wow, Nicollette really lost Desperate Housewives. The Sussex-born actress, who played Edie, left the show in 2009 and then went on to launch a lawsuit against the show's creator, Marc Cherry, and ABC that would rumble on for five years.
She claimed that Cherry had assaulted her on set and she also accused him of wrongful termination, gender violence, discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and age, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. In the end, all charges were dismissed, and even her fellow cast members sided against her.
In terms of her career, Nicollette has since been in a couple of TV movies and low-budget films including Jewtopia and The Christmas Spirit.
10. Andrea Bowen
Since playing Teri Hatcher's daughter Julie, Andrea has appeared in a handful of TV shows and independent films, but nothing hugely of note. These included an episode of Scandal, the Jamie-Lynn Sigler-starrer Divorce Invitation and the high school movie GBF.
9. Doug Savant
The man behind Tom Scavo has been in quite a few TV shows since DH concluded, but he has yet to join one as a recurring character. Instead, he has been in one-off episodes of shows including Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five-0, Castle, the dodgy Rush Hour remake and The X-Files revival.
8. James Denton
James has featured in a few independent films, TV movies and one-off episodes, but is still best known as Mike Delfino. However, in 2015 he joined the Hallmark Channel's fantasy comedy series Good Witch as a recurring doctor. He also reunited with Marc Cherry (and producer Eva Longoria) for the show Devious Maids for one episode this year.
7. Marcia Cross
She had already had a successful career before landing her most famous role of Bree Van Der Kamp, but since the show ended she took a break from acting until last year. Her stockbroker husband Tom Mahoney beat cancer in 2010, and they have since been raising their young children. However, she joined the TV series Quantico in 2015 as a regular character, so her comeback tour has begun.
6. Teri Hatcher
Surprisingly, the former Lois and Clark star and Bond girl didn't capitalise on her starring role in DH, and has yet to appear in a project anywhere near as big since the show ended in 2012. She appeared in the TV series Jane By Design in a recurring role and lent her voice to the show Jake and the Never Land Pirates. She currently pops up in Matthew Perry's The Odd Couple as his love interest Charlotte.
5. Jesse Metcalfe
Jesse was only actually in 22 episodes of the show, but he made his name as John Rowland throughout various seasons. Since then, he starred in NBC's crime drama Chase which ran for one season, and featured as Christopher Ewing in the Dallas reboot from 2012 to 2014. He has also starred in a couple of Dead Rising films and the Christian extravaganza God's Not Dead 2 with Melissa Joan Hart this year.
4. Brenda Strong
She played Mary Alice Young, the character whose suicide initiated the whole show, even though it was mainly through voiceovers, flashbacks and dream sequences. But since then, Brenda has appeared in several TV shows and reunited with Metcalfe in Dallas as Ann Ewing. She has also starred in a couple of Scandal episodes, Bones, The 100 and aptly narrates the documentary series Blood Relatives, a show about murders committed within families.
3. Ricardo Antonio Chavira
Best known for playing Eva Longoria's husband Carlos, Ricardo has since had a successful theatre career, including his West End debut in The Motherf**ker with the Hat at the National Theatre last year. He also starred in the short-lived comedy Welcome to the Family on NBC, reunited with Longoria in an episode of Telenovela, and currently has a recurring role as Governor Vargas in Scandal.
2. Felicity Huffman
She was already a successful actor when DH started, and had earned an Oscar nomination for Transamerica while the show was still on air. Since 2012, Felicity has returned to the theatre, appeared opposite Jennifer Aniston in Cake, starred in the cancelled Fox drama Boomerang, joined Samuel L Jackson in Big Game, and currently leads the cast of ABC's anthology legal drama American Crime, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe.
1. Eva Longoria
Huffman may have won more plaudits in terms of her performances, but we'd argue that Eva is still the most famous out of the all the DH bunch, and has backed it up with several successes of her own.
Since 2015, she has led the cast of the NBC sitcom Telenovela (although this was cancelled this year), and serves as the executive producer on the popular Lifetime series Devious Maids. She also continues to lead various advertising campaigns such as L'Oréal, Hanes and New York & Co, among others. Also, she married her businessman partner Jose Antonio Baston just last month, complete with embarrassing dad dancing from close friend David Beckham.
