'Grey's Anatomy' 'Man on the Moon' Recap: 'Don't Call Me Ducky!'

I'm looking forward to April's wedding and I'm very concerned about Christina and Meredith: they're recruited as April's"people," hopefully they remember they were each other's person before mid-season break. The tension is too much for me!

I'm not going to lie; I am very bummed we didn't get to see an awkward Thanksgiving episode. All of the momentum of the past two episodes were sort of lost tonight as things slowed back down.

The good news? Medical science and positive thinking.

Derek and Callie are working with a patient who's blocked because she's so darn nasty. But when she's about to give up, Derek won't let her. She moves her robot hand for her husband and everyone cries (don't lie, you did a bit) and Callie realizes that fighting with Arizona is silly and they smooch.

And, Christina and Meredith are talking. Albeit fighting. But talking nonetheless. It's the big day for their printer surgeries -- Yang and Ross on the baby with the conduit and Meredith and Stephanie on a sheep. Just when we think that Team Grey has won, the sheep kicks it. And the baby, for Team Yang and the conduit, is taken off an oscillator. It's a pretty big deal. Except for the fact that Ross and Yang don't mention their own victory kiss from last episode, but Meredith notices that Shane is more assertive, aggressive, and, well, Christina-like.

More good news is the comic relief. It's time for April's baby shower and her three evil sisters come to town. After a boozy brunch, they try to plan her shower at the hospital. After lots of inappropriate comments to Arizona and general ditziness and insensitivity, April snaps. She fires them as bridesmaids and quickly claims Grey, Yang and Arizona as replacements. So maybe we will get some more girl resolution.

And now for the bad news:

1) Bailey is seriously messed up. She can't do five sutures without reverting to compulsive behavior and she's refusing to take meds. Weber gives her a pep talk, but it's not going to be OK for a long time.

2) Alex's dad is back. He's trying to get clean and refusing methadone. To all the doubters out there -- he did recognize Alex at the bar as they fought. Which is why he came back (that, and free care from Jo). He's detoxing and hallucinating and all of a sudden remembers everything about Karev's childhood. I don't buy this guy. I just want the dad to go away so Alex stops yelling at the poor girl for letting him in.

I'm looking forward to April's wedding and I'm very concerned about Christina and Meredith: they're recruited as April's"people," hopefully they remember they were each other's person before mid-season break. The tension is too much for me!

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
