- A teen model is found dead near a leech-filled swamp. Another body is found, seemingly burned from the inside.
- Eric and Tim work out that Willie Stango, who seems to have combusted spontaneously and drunk masses of milk, made enemies by selling diluted high octane fuel to jet-ski racers and how that ultimately killed him. Horatio's kinky forensics trace silver spoon Dara Winters's swamp-dumped, leech-drained corps to a boot camp for trouble kids, where nobody even admits knowing her, yet comes up with several surprising suspects and motives.—KGF Vissers
- After an initial field examination of a body by Alexx, Horatio declares they are in search of a crime scene, since the corpse is too far from the road to be anything else; while Speedle and Delko exam a decomposed body inside a trailer where spilled milk is present. Tire tracks on the road near the teenager's body were from an ATV; victim had zero point zero blood alcohol, but the odor of alcohol on her. The man from the trailer had burns about his face, inside his lungs and stomach indicating something caustic.
Clues to the girl's murder begin at a tough-love camp for troubled teenagers. Why did the victim break into the camp and the ATV track was a match to an unauthorized unit on the grounds parked near a barracks. Two sets of prints found on the diaphragm, the victim's prints and somebody else. Female victim identified as Dara Winters, a teen model, whose mother just filed a missing persons report. The camp drill instructor offers a lie detector test, Horatio gets prints and a nasal swab. Gasoline was the cause of the young man's death, i.e. he ingested the fuel with sodium content suggesting salt water from the marina.
The gasoline was siphoned by the male victim, it being a high-octane variety used for large-bore engines, i.e. jet-ski racing engines. The victim sold 120-plus octane fuel, which had to be stored off site due to its volatility. A suspect with an altered jet-ski is questioned about the male victim, while the female's clothes are found in a submerged backpack.
Pollen taken from the victim is found to be plentiful in the water where the clothes are collected. Horatio declares the water area the primary crime scene. Sgt. Marcus, the drill instructor, is cleared of any crime, through the DNA test. Horatio determines the suspect is at the camp of cadets. Salt was found on the barracks' floor, commonly used to remove the parasites. Rolled up pant legs reveal leech bites on the senior cadet. The body was moved by senior cadet Valerie to its final location when she found cadet Julie and Dara in the barracks with beer, Julie cutting Dara's hair by consent. Valerie did not want to get into any more trouble; when making rounds, she found the body and moved it.
Interviewing the male suspect, Speedle and Delko show him the gas he purchased from the victim was cut with 89 octane from the corner pump. He claims his engine locked up due to the mixture. He automatic-speed-dialed the victim-phone and when he did answer, he hung up immediately, He claims he had a major bill to fix the engine due to the intake of the lower octane fuel mixture. The suspect swears he did not kill the victim. Milk consumption settled his stomach, but a spark generated from his cell phone likely lit the gasoline fumes that killed him.
Calleigh interviews the victim's friend Julie, finding out the second set of diaphragm prints were the mother's, telling the daughter "choir girls don't make the A-list." The victim, Dara, was tired of the modeling, but the mother pushed her to continue. Swabbing the mother's car seat shows a pollen match to the plant prevalent at the crime scene water. The mother is called in for questioning. Horatio tells her of the pollen match, putting both at the scene where her daughter took her last breath. The chase started by the victim running away from the demanding mother. Dara ran from her mom after a confrontation, ultimately running into the brush, falling, hitting her head, downed, unconscious, getting eating by insects because she was left overnight by her mother.
Horatio is reading Megan's resignation where he informs Detective Sevilla.
