- Miranda thinks she's been stood up until she finds out her date died of a heart attack. She agrees to go to the wake, where she meets a great guy who used to date Carrie, who warns Miranda he has a nasty side. When Charlotte tells her friends Trey is now sexually interested in her but still can't perform, Samantha convinces her it's a classical Madonna-whore complex. A meeting with Charlotte's sorority sisters has the frustrated Charlotte determined to transcend her prudish outlook. Samantha finds her sexual equal in a woman named Claire Ann, whose wild behavior shocks even Samantha. - Carrie teaches at The Learning Annex, who pay her $300 per class. Her course on "How to Find Love" is as successful as her own love life. Women in the class want Carrie to be very specific about where to meet good men. But Carrie can't remember a single place where she met a nice guy in NYC. Her class is a bust as the class is not impressed that Carrie herself is not married and hence cannot be considered an expert on finding love.
Miranda dates Will O'Connor who is an urban planner for NYC. But Will is 3 hours late and she thinks she is being stood up. Miranda is enraged that the guy rejected her without even taking the courtesy to know anything about her and calls his house, only to be told by Will's mother that he died that day and hence didn't pick up Miranda. Miranda promises Will's mother that she will attend the funeral.
Miranda dates one of Carrie's ex-boyfriends Jim (Dominic Fumusa) (known as Mr. A--hole), whom she meets at the funeral of Will. Carrie dated Jim 8 years ago, and is OK with Miranda going out with him, but warns her that Jim was really an A-hole. Their first date is charming, and Miranda strongly thinks Carrie is wrong about him. Miranda calls Carrie to join them for drinks. Jim's old, repressed feelings come out in front of Carrie and Miranda sees first hand that Jim is what Carrie says he is.
Charlotte gets sexually frustrated with her sex life with Trey. Based on therapist's advice, they have given names to their private parts. Charlotte calls her vagina as Rebecca, while Trey calls his penis as Schooner. Yet, nothing works.
Charlotte tells the girls that she is already masturbating, and she knows that Trey already masturbates, yet together they are not able to have sex. Charlotte snaps at Samantha for her casual attitude towards sex. She says that sex is something special and sacred between 2 people. Samantha refuses to back down, and Charlotte leaves fuming.
Charlotte goes lingerie shopping with Carrie, and then meets her sorority friends, who judge her when she talks about how Trey can't get it up. Charlotte realizes that at least Samantha is honest about her feelings. Meanwhile Samantha meets Claire Anne, who is a middle-aged woman who is as open about her sexuality as Samantha. They go for a drink together where Claire ends up giving a blow job to a date they picked up, right under the table. Samantha realizes that she has a little of Charlotte in her and leaves.
Trey won't even look at Charlotte in lingerie. Charlotte wants him to face her. Charlotte touches herself in front of Trey and for the first time Trey has sex with his wife. Charlotte calls Samantha to thank her.
At the next lecture, Carrie has a lot less attendance. She takes the few women who came for drinks at a local bar and teaches them how to ask men out.
