Shemar Moore is spellbinding in a great episode.
NO Plot Spoilers!!! General Discussion of emotionsl Journey of this episode and some comments about the show, the actors, SPECIFICALLY SHEMAR MOORE, as he carries this episode, but not one Hhint of what actually happens.
I enjoy how this show shares focus between different cast members and this week it is FBI Agent Derek Morgan -- actor SHEMAR MOORE! HE is great in every single episode, but his talent was allowed to explode in this one. The plots of C.M. are almost always fast-paced and interesting, and the acting is seamless and real from each major character. I think these are the obvious strengths and the reason it has gone on so long. However, this is the first show I guess I've ever watched - of anything- that compelled me to leave a review. (Not positive on that, but think it's true!)
THIS EPISODE is not to be missed, whether you watch CM all the time or are just choosing one randomly to try out. Mr Moore takes us with him, on a journey- where criminal profiling is featured, of course - and actually in a way we've seen them show before, but I appreciate it and wish for even more, as it is something we see in real life in way too many criminal cases.
So, everything about the show we enjoy is there, but also- out of nowhere, Shemar Moore just takes us over completely, and pulls us into some parts of his most private life and his secrets- both good and bad, and he skillfully includes us in experiencing with him about every emotion there is - and yet- he manages to leave us feeling, yes, a little tired :)- but also a peaceful kind of happy, and even a little stronger ourselves by the end.
Bonus: If you watch the show, it is a nice thing to really see beyond his cute, smart, cool, smooth-talking, tough-guy persona at work. He is a gifted actor, letting us always remember he is more than that - as we are allowed to see cracks here and there, small signs of his emotions, and feelings of anger or pain through each case, but in the end, he seems to always pulls it together and is strong and sure for everyone else on his team, even though his eyes tell us differently sometimes .... now we understand him even more.
