- Walt's lies have pushed Skyler to her limit. She leaves with the kids. Meanwhile, Jesse blames himself for Jane's death and goes into rehab.
- Walt's operation is all set to go forward but under sedation, he tells Skyler something that she did not want to hear. As a result, all of his lies - getting money from the Schwartz's, visiting his mother for four days, having a second cell phone - unravel before him. Once recovered from his operation, Skyler tells him to leave. At the DEA, Hank is convinced that Heisenberg is still on the loose but has become much more sophisticated in the way he is distributing his now infamous blue meth. A chance encounter reveals to someone Walt's connection to Hank. Jesse learns the true cost of his drug habit when girlfriend Jane overdoses. - Numerous investigators from the NTSB collect and catalog debris, including a half-burnt pink teddy bear, that had fallen around the Whites' neighborhood. In the distance, two columns of smoke can be seen.
Jesse awakens, discovers Jane is dead, and reaches out to Walt. Walt contacts Saul, who sends his PI/cleaner Mike (Jonathan Banks) to mitigate Jesse's involvement with Jane's death and to coach him on how to interact with authorities. Blaming himself for Jane's death, Jesse is distraught. Mike removes all evidence of drug use from the apartment and sanitizes the whole place. He also takes the bag of cash away with him. Mike asks Jesse to say, "I woke up, I found her, and that's all I know". If Jesse is arrested, he is instructed to say nothing and just call Saul Goodman. Jesse is told to put on a long sleeves shirt to cover the needle marks on his arms and then dial 911 to report the death.
Jane's father Donald arrives at the apartment to find that his daughter has died, with Jesse being interviewed by the medical examiner. Jesse is unable to look Donald in the eyes, becoming more depressed. Believing he is responsible for Jane's death; he runs off to a crack house to lose himself.
Walt's funds are funneled into his son's website, which attracts the attention of the media, causing him to be overcome with guilt. Marie first mentioned the story to an editor friend of hers, who printed the news in her paper. Then Marie also offered the story to a TV station who came to the house to do an interview with Walter Jr and his family. He takes his second phone out, which he had hidden inside the toilet tank. Walt, worried for Jesse's well-being, locates him with the help of Paul and Mike and takes him to rehab. Jesse tells Walter that he loved Jane more than anything in the whole world.
On the day of Walt's operation, as he is put under anesthetics, he accidentally reveals the existence of a second cell phone he uses, making Skyler White suspicious of his activities. This prompts Skyler to investigate deeper, thereby revealing many of Walt's lies, which spurs her to leave him.
She finds that Gretchen and Elliot never paid for any of Walter's treatments. Yet Walter made every payment (Amounting to $100,000) to the doctors on time. So, where did the money come from? She also found that Walter has not visited his mother for last year and is not even aware that he has cancer. Walter lied when he said he was going to visit his mother.
Hank is not convinced that they have Heisenberg in their custody. Gomez says that since Heisenberg was arrested, blue Meth has disappeared from the streets. He has figured out that the blue Meth from Heisenberg has found its way to nearby states and reckons that Heisenberg has gone regional and is avoiding Albuquerque as he knows that the law is onto him. Gus figures out that Walter has lung cancer and that he is Hank's brother. Gus visits the DEA office to support the city marathon effort. There he meets Hank, who is trying to raise donations for Walter's surgery. That's where Gus sees Walter's photo and makes the connect.
Jane's father, an air traffic controller, distraught from his daughter's death (which Walt deliberately refused to prevent), allows a mid-air collision to occur between two airliners in the sky above Albuquerque, resulting in debris and human remains raining down onto the Whites' residence, as well as much of the city. Walt, sitting by his pool while thinking about what has transpired, looks up to see the collision over his home, and the pink bear landing in his swimming pool.
