"𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨"
In the final episode of the original 'Walking Dead' series, that quote really resonated with me. It embodies a sense of resolve and alignment between these characters that's truly beautiful. It felt like the world in that show had a sense of providence, giving it a deeper significance.
And as (die-hard) fan of the 'Walking Dead Universe', seeing its spin-offs with timelines all connected and overlapping was just mind-blowing. When I first heard about their plans for it, I thought it was nothing short of genius

What really got me buzzing was how these spin-offs expanded the storylines. You know, different timelines, stories within stories — it felt like peeling back layers of an onion, discovering new depths to the universe. It got me pondering about my own creative projects, like this TV drama I'm workin on. Maybe I could borrow a page from their playbook?

These line extensions, sprouting from the original series with diverse timelines and nested stories, have really fueled my creative fire. It's a smart way to make the most out of the entire intellectual property, giving beloved characters their own moment (backstory) in the spotlight or weaving their parallel narratives seamlessly alongside the main plot.
And it's not just 'The Walking Dead' — there are other shows that have done this too, and I'm a huge fan. You've got 'Powerbook', 'Stargate', 'Star Trek', the 'MCU', 'Star Wars' — the list goes on. It's like these miniverses just keep expanding, giving us more to explore and get lost in.
What are your thoughts on creating miniverses and expanding the storylines?

P.S. I originally asked Midjourney to generate a Rick Grimes and Michonne on top of their world, but sadly Midjourney doesn't know a black Michonne... So I resorted to their cover artwork.
