We know and love them as the cast of Desperate Housewives, which you can watch for free on 9Now, but they were very almost played by a completely different set of actresses.

What would one of your favourite shows have looked like if all the characters we've become so invested in were completely different?

The character of Lynette Scavo has, of course, become synonymous with Felicity Huffman, but that almost wasn't the case.
Lynette was almost going to be the flame-haired Alex Kingston! Kingston later told US morning show The Today Show that she wasn't able to nab the coveted role because she was "too big" for the cast.
"To me, they didn't look like desperate housewives but desperate glamour models. It drives me crazy; it's encouraging women to feel guilty about not looking like that," she said.
She later retracted that statement, claiming Huffman was simply "the right choice".
We can't imagine Bree Van de Kamp as anyone else other than the wildly talented Marcia Cross, but it turns out the red-headed beauty was not the first choice to play the character.
Dana Delany was actually show creator Marc Cherry's first choice for the role, but she turned it down, worrying that the character was too similar to others she had portrayed in the past.
Delany also turned down the opportunity to play Carrie in Sex and the City before Sarah Jessica Parker landed the iconic role, and we think she must be kicking herself...
While Mary Alice Young is known as the show's narrator from beyond the grave, whenever we do see her in the flesh, she is played by Brenda Strong.
But the original casting might surprise you!
It was none other than Marcia Cross who Marc Cherry wanted to fill the role, however when Dana Delany turned down the role of Bree, there was a shuffle within the cast and Cross ended up moving on to the role, making room for Strong.
Susan Meyer will always be Teri Hatcher in our minds, and indeed, Marc Cherry claimed to love her audition for the role, if she hadn't given such a stunning performance, we would know her as someone completely different.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Courteney Cox both expressed interest in the role of Susan, but it was in fact Mary-Louise Parker who Cherry wrote the character for.
However, Parker turned down the role and the character went to Hatcher.
"I wouldn't normally say, because I think it's rude to the other actors, but Teri has said it," Parker told The Guardian. "It's been really fantastic and it's worked great for her but it didn't feel like my part."
Parker went on to win a Best Actress Golden Globe for her role in Weeds, beating out the four leads of Desperate Housewives.
It's almost impossible to imagine Gabrielle Solis played by anyone but the smouldering Eva Longoria, and the role launched the actress and model to fame. But she wasn't the only actress to audition for the role.
Roselyn Sánchez also auditioned for the role, and was so close to receiving it that she later came back onto the show in a cameo role as Gabrielle's 'sexy' gardener (who was hired by Gaby's husband, Carlos, to prove a point).
