Season 12 – The Big Bang Theory

      2018 Comedy List
83% 18 Reviews Tomatometer 86% 250+ Ratings Audience Score Mensa-fied best friends and roommates Leonard and Sheldon, physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology, may be able to tell everybody more than they want to know about quantum physics, but getting through most basic social situations, especially ones involving women, totally baffles them. How lucky, then, that babe-alicious waitress/aspiring actress Penny moves in next door. Frequently seen hanging out with Leonard and Sheldon are friends and fellow Caltech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. Will worlds collide? Does Einstein theorize in the woods? Lincee Ray Entertainment Weekly There is no BAZINGA. The moment is sweet, sincere, and lovely. I appreciated the low-key ending of a show that started with a big bang. May 17, 2019 Full Review Kathryn VanArendonk New York Magazine/Vulture However big a role pop culture may have played in its stories, the show itself could never have served as a barometer for the rest of pop culture. It's impossible to be a meaningful barometer if the dial only ever reads one thing. May 17, 2019 Full Review Emily St. James Vox It's mostly fizzling out, compared even to the end of HBO's much-less-watched Veep May 17, 2019 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv There was some genuine emotion... Lorre and the others pulled a few Pinocchio strings, turning their hero a real, live boy by the end. There was also a bit of Wizard of Oz. Nov 2, 2022 Full Review Noah Berlatsky NBC News THINK The critical disdain and indifference the show has experienced is its longest, most obsessive running joke, on itself, but also on its detractors. After 12 years, "The Big Bang Theory" gets the final "Bazinga!" Aug 29, 2019 Full Review Dan Hamamura Pajiba I'm going to remember those writing credits, and that little hat tip to the fact that indeed, nobody, not even insanely powerful television showrunners, accomplishes anything alone. Kasey D This show came out before the majority of audiences understood much about neurodivergence, and while the mockery of the conditions can be off-putting at first, you come to realize that the show mocks every type of human uniqueness, and that equalizing factor is beautiful in its own way. The show itself grows and changes, predominantly in positive ways, as society grows along side it, as do the quirky and overly stereotypical characters. By the final season, there are a few things I wish had been different, but I'm predominantly satisfied with the ending and I feel like I'm saying goodbye to an old friend. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Tawfik K Beautifully summarizes this long series, as elegantly and smart as it could get. this season was delightful to watch, unlike the previous season.
