The show will follow a new generation of witches, vampires, and werewolves as they discover their own powers while surviving high school at the Salvatore School for the Young & Gifted in Mystic Falls.

Here's everything you need to know about Legacies:

Are there any upcoming easter eggs that we should be on the lookout for?

The next episode of Legacies is going to be a big one for fans of The Vampire Diaries as it's all about the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. While that might be the biggest easter egg in the episode, there is another one that some very big fans have noticed.

Yep, that's the same dress Caroline wore back in season 3 of The Vampire Diaries. Klaus was the one who gave her the dress, so it makes sense that Hope would be the one to wear it.

When does season one end?

The CW has officially announced the finale dates for their shows and it looks like there are only a couple of weeks left before Legacies ends.

Season one of Legacies will end on March 28 after episode 16. Fans don't have to worry, as the show has already been renewed for season two, which will come out later in the fall.

How did Paul Wesley feel about directing an episode of Legacies?

"One of the things that I welcomed the most with Legacies was the humor. For years on Vampire Diaries we all wanted to flex our satirical muscles a little bit," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I think it’s nice to be able to make fun of not yourself but I suppose of the genre and make it a little more of a wink to the audience."

He also opened up about his favorite scene he got to shoot throughout his career and, of course, he couldn't help but talk about his time on The Vampire Diaries.

"I think the ending of Legacies is very powerful. I really like the way it ends. As far as in general as a director, I’m not so sure. There’s a handful of scenes that I’m really proud of," he said. "There’s a few on the Vampire Diaries that I thought were probably some of my favorites. But I can’t quite recall at this point. It’s all blended in into one giant supernatural CW mix-up in my mind."

Does Landon have anything to worry about with his relationship with Hope?

Get ready, because someone from Hope's past will be returning and it doesn't seem like things will be looking good for Landon and Hope.

In the show's 14th episode, "Let's Just Finish the Dance," the girls of the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted will be taking part in the Miss Mystic Falls pageant and Roman will be returning for a bit, according to the episode's press release.

This reunion will definitely be a big deal for Hope, so it will be interesting to see how she reacts to seeing Roman again.

Is Ian Somerhader returning as Damon in Legacies?

Fans are freaking out over Ian's recent Instagram selfie. In it, Ian is showing off his old familiar fangs and is giving full Damon Salvatore vibes.

While he hasn't confirmed if he will be returning to Legacies or not, there's a good chance that the selfie is actually from when he filmed The Vampire Diaries or for his new show V-Wars, which ALSO has vampires.

Ian still hasn't confirmed or denied the rumors just yet and Legacies was just renewed for season 2, so there's still plenty of chances that we'll get to see Damon at some point in the future.

Did Legacies just confirm a big The Vampire Diaries secret?

Legacies' 10th episode of the season was filled with tons of easter eggs including one big one that made all Delena fans freakout.

In the episode, Josie got to have some of her biggest wishes come true, including never having the Salvatore School exist. Instead, Josie attended Mystic Falls High School and was classmates with Stefanie Salvatore. Yep, Damon and Elena had a daughter and her name is Stefanie, clearly named after his brother Stefan.

Josie also said that Damon and Elena had several kids, meaning there are more of them in the Legacies universe. Hopefully one of them decides to enroll in the Salvatore School so we can finally get to meet them.

What is coming up next for the mid-season premiere?

Seventeen got to talk to Danielle Rose Russell, who plays Hope Mikaelson, about what's coming up next for Hope, Landon, and Alaric in the mid-season premiere and that very big callback in the mid-season finale.

How will finding out about her dad's current situation in the afterlife affect Hope throughout the season?

"The mid-season finale was definitely a Hope-centric episode that really focused on her dealing with the traumas of her past for the first time on-screen. You never really saw that process before, so I was very happy that they decided to do that in the mid-season finale. Going forward, I think a big decision that I made while playing this character was finally letting her heal through those traumas, cause you see that her father won’t be able to find peace until she does," she revealed. "And I think that really is a catalyst for her character arc and really seeing her grow. So now she really focuses on finding Landon and on that relationship and this whole Malivore theory."

Was portraying Hope's emotions in the mid-season finale tough?

"I was very, very sick. I had the touch of the flu so it was hard. I had never called out of work sick ever in my life except I had to during that episode cause I was really not well. So that was one of the few challenges," she said. "I really love to show how much emotional depth that she has and in that episode you really get to see Hope struggle with herself and the things that her family has done for her."

How will Hope and Alaric's fight affect them throughout the season?

"Their relationship has been one that surprised me in many ways. I think [the fight] was necessary because, in a weird way, they were both kind of overstepping each other’s boundaries. Out of care and concern for each other, but also out of care and concern for the school and their differencing opinions. I mean that definitely caused a lot of hurt in both of them. But, you will see that come to head a little bit more and you’ll see how their relationship changes in the mid-season premiere and onwards. And even still to the very last episode, you come to understand why that fight was important and significant in their relationship."

How was it seeing Rousseau's again?

"It was really fun! I had wondered why they didn’t take that set down. I really do love that set, I think it’s so fun. The entire episode is really just like an homage to The Originals and to Hope’s relationship with her family and Mikaelson roots that she has so I think that Russeau’s was a nice little easter egg."

What kind of trouble will Landon be getting into?

"Trouble surrounds Landon, that’s for sure. Throughout the rest of the season you’ll see how trouble finds Landon very easily. I’m so excited for fans to see [this episode]. It’s one of my absolute favorites in the entire season. There is only four characters in it and it gives a great foundation for what you’re about to see with Malivore and Landon’s ties to that."

Who will be making a possible cameo in Legacies?

"There are so many characters that I would love to see back in Hope’s journey. But, I think the most possible one, and she’s even teased this and [said] that she would love to come back and I really hope that she does is Hope’s aunt Freya. I hope to see her back soon. Riley [Voelkel] is the best!"

Will Nina Dobrev be on Legacies?

Sorry, Elena Gilbert fans, but don't expect to see her around Mystic Falls on Legacies. Nina recently opened up about the possibility of making an appearance on the show, but said her current schedule wouldn't make it possible.

"I have a full time job here, so I don't know that I can," she told TV Guide. "But I'm excited and happy to see that the show is living on, and it's a testament to the show itself that people love it so much and have a hunger for it and have an appetite that they need to satiate. So spin-off after spin-off — that means it's a good thing... Julie Plec is the new Shonda Rhimes; she has like 95,000 shows on the air. She's a force."

Nina is currently starring in Fam, which will premiere on CBS in January. Paul Wesley recently surprised her when he stopped by to support her during one of her tapings. Here's hoping Paul, Ian, and Nina can work things out so they can all come back for one big reunion.

What's next for Hope's and Landon's relationship?

Fans of Hope and Landon might've been upset to see Landon leaving the Salvatore School after being voted out, but if that kiss is any indication, things are definitely not over between them.

"My stuff with Hope and Landon has been my favorite, because I love playing romantic Hope and angry Hope. He’s someone who somehow means so much and so little to her all at once," Danielle Rose Russell told TVLine.

Fans might be wondering if Landon will be making a return for the rest of the season and it's pretty safe to say that this won't be the last we'll see of him. Hopefully, they finally get back together for real and find out the mystery of who Landon really is.

Are there any clues about the new monsters that are coming?

As we've already seen in the first couple of episodes, the monsters that the students of the Salvatore School are fighting are nothing we've seen in this world before.

"It’s not something that you would think you’d be seeing on this show. And then all the subsequent creatures are really fun, cause the mystery of each episode becomes what monster are we dealing with," said creator Julie Plec to Seventeen on the set of Legacies.

While each monster is a mystery, Julie has already confirmed that the monster in the series' fifth episode, "Malivore," will be slightly different from the others.

"If you’ve been looking for answers, the next two monsters can speak. And boy do they have a lot to say," she posted on Twitter.

Maybe it's a new mystical creature that we've never met before? Whatever it is, it'll certainly be interesting to see what comes after the Salvatore school next.

How is Hope going to react to Landon's return?

As seen in the end of the third episode of Legacies, Hope isn't too excited to see Landon back at the Salvatore School. In a new clip over at Entertainment Weekly, Hope shows Alaric just how angry she is through their traditional fight training session. Unfortunately, Alaric seems to get the bad end of it as she attacks him over what happened with Landon. But, Alaric reveals he has a plan to figure out what Landon really is and find out if he's a human or not. Will we finally learn the truth about Landon? Guess we'll have to wait to find out.

Are there any special guest stars that are coming back?

Steven R. McQueen AKA Jeremy Gilbert will be returning to The Vampire Diaries universe. The first photo of his return has finally been released and it looks like things will be going down that Jeremy will probably have to deal with.

He will be appearing in the third episode of the season. The last time we saw Jeremy was during the series finale of The Vampire Diaries, where he was seen helping out at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, the same school Hope and her friends will be attending in Legacies.

Steven also posted a photo on Instagram with series creator Julie Plec, Michael Trevino, Torrance Coombs, Matthew Davis, Zach Roerig, and Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and captioned it, "Catching up with old friends ✌️😝🥃"

Matt Donovan is also returning as Mystic Falls' sheriff and first appeared in the series premiere of Legacies.

"He’s going a bit insane at this point," Zach Roerig, who plays Matt, told Entertainment Weekly. "He kind of went off the deep end. We see him in the future a little more frazzled and a little out of his mind from the vampires. He’s crazy sheriff Matt Donovan."

While these are the only confirmed returns, series creator Julie Plec says more surprising cameos are possible.

"The door is open. We have story pitches for everyone and as people are interested and available, we will try to make that work and hope to see those faces again." she told Seventeen while on set of Legacies. "But, also, are happy to know that the show seems to standing on its own without needing the stunt casting so far."

Will Stefan be returning in Legacies?

Get ready Stefan Salvatore fans, cause Paul Wesley just revealed if he would ever return to Mystic Falls.

"Absolutely, 100 percent not. Stefan is forever dead," he told TVGuide.com.

While it's kind of upsetting to hear that we won't be seeing him back in The Vampire Diaries universe soon (or possibly ever), that doesn't mean Paul really gone.

It was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Paul will be directing an episode of Legacies. He previously directed episodes of The Vampire Diaries and Shadowhunters.

Is Legacies connected to The Vampire Diaries and The Originals?

Yes, the show follows Alaric Saltzman, Hope Mikaelson, and the rest of the students and staff at the Salvatore School for the Young & Gifted in Mystic Falls. Other already known characters that will be seen are the Saltzman twins, Lizzie and Josie, and Landon (who was seen in The Originals).

Does Legacies start right after The Originals?

Danielle Rose Russell told Seventeen at New York Comic Conthat the show will take place two years after The Originals, making Hope now 17-years-old.

Who are the new characters that we'll be meeting in Legacies?

There's plenty of students at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted along with Hope and the Saltzman twins. Other students include:

Quincy Fouse as M.G.: A newly formed vampire who is Alaric's student aide.

Peyton Alex Smith as Rafael: Landon's foster brother who finds himself at the Salvatore School.

Karen David as Emma Tig: The school's guidance counselor who is also a witch.

Will Caroline be returning in Legacies?

Caroline's absence is going to be addressed and it's possible that we could see her return in the future. "We’re going to hear her and feel free a lot," Julie Plec said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "I don’t know when we’ll see her. I, of course, would like to see her anytime. The door is open. But the girls are dealing with the fact that their mother, who has raised them, is a little absentee lately."

"They believe she’s off on recruiting missions," Plec continued. "Alaric knows she’s actually off doing other things that have to do with the long-term survival of their daughters. So the mystery of, where is Caroline, why isn’t she coming home for their birthday, that kind of thing is gonna be part of our story in the hopes that one day we’ll be able to walk to have her walk through the doors as well."

How different is Legacies from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals?

"If The Vampire Diaries was about love and The Originals is about family, for us, this is a show about friendship," series creator Julie Plec told Seventeen at New York Comic Con."[It's] about growing up and those friendships and how they shift and change and at the core of the kids, the question of, ‘can I be my best self’ or ‘am I doomed to be the villain of someone else’s story?’ These kids all have a curse, a plague, something that’s afflicting them, that’s making them others. And yet, they all want to be the heroes of the story."

"The added twist to this particular series is we’ve got monsters. We’ve got creatures that fall outside the traditional Vampire Dairies universe of vampires, witches, and werewolves," Julie said. "We’re gonna start introducing our world episode by episode to a series, a great collection of creatures that we’re very excited to show off."

How many episodes will Legacies have?

While the show hasn't officially aired yet, CW has just ordered 3 more episodes, bringing the first season to 16, according to Variety.

Hopefully this means we'll be seeing more of our favorite characters from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals appearing soon.

Is there a trailer for Legacies yet?

With only a couple more days left until we return to Mystic Falls, CW just released the latest trailer for the series and we finally get to learn more about the new students at the Salvatore School.

Are there any photos from Legacies yet?
