Description

This mini-lesson features a fantastic video on the literary device deus ex machina. It applies to many films your students will have seen -- but beware, spoilers ahead!

This lesson is to go hand in hand with a study of M. Night Shyamalan's The Village, so be sure to grab the viewing packet as well so your students have a place to note down the four types of deus ex machina as they watch the linked video.

Note: This is for the literary device and how it's used in film, not the movie Ex Machina.
