CLASSROOM TESTED
The novel Switcharound, written by Lois Lowery, is a short novel about two children who visit their Dad in Des Moines, Iowa. They don't like the chores they have been given, and plot a revenge against their Dad. Telling you any more would spoil the story.
Purpose:
This activity helps students understand the sequence of the story Switcharound, and the corresponding plot vocabulary: exposition, initiating event, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
I have created it as an editable activity to differentiate for various teaching styles and the learners in your class. It is a great activity for elementary age students, special needs, home-school students, and ESL/EFL students. This activity correlates with the LLI reading program which is taught at the end of Gold Level Q. I used it as a culminating activity to the novel.
