The Mentalist season 3 episode 4, titled "Red Carpet Treatment," opens with Jane and Lisbon investigating a murder at a celebrity rehab center. The victim, a young actress named Honey White, was found dead in her room with a gunshot wound to the head. As they start digging into the case, Jane and Lisbon soon realize that almost everyone at the rehab center had a motive for killing Honey, who was known for her erratic behavior and drug abuse.

Their investigation is complicated by the fact that the rehab center is run by a charismatic and well-connected man named Denny White (played by guest star Simon Baker), who also happens to be Honey's father. Denny is desperate to protect his reputation and keep his celebrity clients happy, and he seems to have a lot of pull with the local police and politicians. He makes it clear to Jane and Lisbon that he expects them to keep a low profile and avoid causing any scandals or negative publicity.

Undaunted, Jane and Lisbon continue to search for clues and interview the other patients, staff members, and visitors at the rehab center. They discover that Honey was involved in a love triangle with two other patients, a former pop singer named Danny and a young actor named Tyler. They also learn that Honey had recently been blackmailed by someone who had evidence of her drug use and wild behavior. As they follow these leads, Jane and Lisbon become convinced that the key to solving the case lies in uncovering the blackmailer's identity.

In order to do this, Jane comes up with a risky and unconventional plan. He decides to pose as a paparazzi photographer and attend a VIP party that Denny is hosting at the rehab center. The party, which is filled with celebrities and wealthy patrons, is being held to raise money for the rehab center and to promote Denny's new charity foundation. Jane hopes to use this opportunity to get close to the other guests and look for any evidence that might connect them to the blackmail scheme.

At the party, Jane manages to charm his way into several conversations and gain some valuable information. He learns that Tyler had a brief fling with Honey but had broken it off just before she died. He also discovers that Danny was cheating on his girlfriend with another patient, a reality TV star named Mindy. And he overhears a suspicious conversation between Denny and a shady-looking businessman named Wally.

As the party winds down, Jane follows Wally back to his hotel room and confronts him about his involvement in the blackmail scheme. Wally admits that he had been paid by someone to spy on Honey and gather evidence of her drug use and promiscuous behavior. However, he claims that he didn't kill her and doesn't know who did.

With this new information, Jane and Lisbon are able to piece together the final details of the case. They realize that Honey had accidentally killed herself while trying to get high and that Wally had used the evidence of her drug use to blackmail her and extort money from her father. While Wally is arrested for his role in the scheme, Denny manages to avoid any serious repercussions and the rehab center continues to operate under his guidance.

Overall, "Red Carpet Treatment" is a thrilling and suspenseful episode that showcases the best of The Mentalist's detective work and clever plotting. With its intriguing cast of characters and high-stakes setting, this episode is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
